A&E FINISHES BEST QUARTER IN NETWORK HISTORY RANKING AS THE #4 NETWORK IN CABLE TO-DATE IN 2009
NETWORK FINISHES LAST WEEK OF THE QUARTER #3 AMONG ALL CABLE NETWORKS IN ADULTS 18-49 AND ADULTS 25-54
NEW YORK, NY � March 31, 2009 � Continuing its phenomenal ratings growth, A&E enjoyed its best quarter ever among key demographics behind the strength of the network's expansive slate of original series, both scripted and unscripted, in the first quarter of 2009. Year to-date, A&E currently ranks as the number 4 cable network in the key adults 25-54 demographic.
The network was up in both adults 18-49 (720,000) and adults 25-54 (751,000) edging out first quarter 2008 as the best in network history. Since fourth quarter 2003, A&E has grown versus the prior year for 17 of 22 quarters in adults 25-54 and for 20 of 22 quarters in adults 18-49.
Versus all ad-supported cable networks this past week, A&E ranked number three in both adults 25-54 (807,000) and in adults 18-49 (750,000), ahead of TNT and FX in the top five.
