ACMA's Up +31% in Adults 18-49, Highest Rating Since 2005
All Key Measures Increase by Double Digit Percentages Versus Last Year
CBS Wins its Sixth Consecutive Sunday in Viewers; Third Straight in Key Demos
The 44TH ANNUAL ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS dominated Sunday delivering its largest audience since 1998 and highest adult 18-49 rating since 2005 leading CBS to its sixth consecutive Sunday win in viewers and third consecutive in key demographics, according to preliminary Nielsen live plus same day ratings for April 5.
The ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS posted double digit percentage increases in all key measures versus last year, placing first in every half hour.
From 8:00-11:00 PM, the ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS (S) was first in households (8.8/14), viewers (14.80m), adults 25-54 (4.9/12) and adults 18-49 (3.8/10).
Compared to the event last year (May 18, 2008), CBS was up +21% in households (from 7.3/12), +32% in adults 25-54 (from 3.7/09), +31% in adults 18-49 (from 2.9/08) and added +3.06m viewers (from 11.74m, +26%).
This is the ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC's best delivery in households since May 9, 2001, in viewers since April 22, 1998, in adults 25-54 since May 22, 2002 and in adults 18-49 since May 17, 2005. The ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS was the night's #1 program in households, viewers, adults 25-54 and adults 18-49.
At 7:00 PM, 60 MINUTES was first in households (7.8/14), viewers (12.05m), adults 25-54 (2.7/08) and second in adults 18-49 (1.8/06).
