CBS placed first in viewers for the eighth consecutive week (and 25 of 31 this season) and continues as the only network posting season-to-date gains in all key measures, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the week ending April 26, week 31 of the 2008-2009 television season.
CBS had seven of the top 10 scripted series - CSI, CRIMINAL MINDS 10:00 PM SPECIAL, NCIS 9:00 PM SPECIAL (R) (S), THE MENTALIST 10PM SPECIAL (R) (S), TWO AND A HALF MEN, RULES OF ENGAGEMENT and COLD CASE
CBS's reality hits continued their time period supremacy as SURVIVOR: TOCANTINS swept its Thursday time slot and THE AMAZING RACE 14 won its time slot in viewers, adults 25-54 and adults 18-49 for the fourth consecutive broadcast.
For the season, CBS is the only network posting year-to-year increases in all key measures: +12% in viewers, +7% in adults 18-49 and +8% in adults 25-54.
For the week in viewers: CBS (9.21m), FOX (8.55m), ABC (8.10m) and NBC (6.03m). Season-to-date, CBS is first in viewers (11.76m), ahead of FOX (9.69m), ABC (8.88m) and NBC (7.97m).
For the week in households: CBS (5.9/10), ABC (5.3/09), FOX (5.2/09) and NBC (3.9/07). In households, season-to-date, CBS is first (7.3/12), ahead of FOX (5.7/09), ABC (5.6/09) and NBC (4.9/08).
For the week in key demographics: CBS was tied for second in adults 25-54 (3.0/08, with ABC) and averaged a 2.3/07 in adults 18-49. Season-to-date, CBS is first in adults 25-54 (4.1/10, tie with FOX) and second in adults 18-49 (3.2/08).
