NBC TIES FOR THE NIGHTLONG VICTORY IN 18-49, AS 'CELEBRITY' BUILDS FROM ITS FIRST HALF-HOUR TO ITS FOURTH BY 38 PERCENT
'CELEBRITY' IS BROADCAST TELEVISION'S #1 PROGRAM IN PRIMETIME MONDAY NIGHT AMONG ADULTS 18-34
'MEDIUM' TIES FOR #1 AT 10 P.M. IN 18-49, MATCHING ITS TOP RATING SINCE APRIL
UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. � June 2, 2009 � Last night's premiere of NBC's "I'm a Celebrity�Get Me Out of Here!" tied for the time-period win in adults 18-49 and won the slot outright among adults 18-34, according to "fast affiliate-based" "live plus same day" viewing figures from Nielsen Media Research.
From 8-10 p.m. ET, "I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!" debuted with a 2.6 rating, 8 share in adults 18-49 and 6.4 million viewers overall. "I'm a Celebrity" jumped 44 percent above NBC's 18-49 average in this time period during the May sweep (2.6 vs. 1.8) and was up 16 percent versus the network's total-viewer average in the slot during May (6.4 million vs. 5.5 million). "I'm a Celebrity" beat ABC's ""Bachelorette" head-to-head in adults 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54, all key adult-male demos and total viewers (pending updates).
From its first half-hour to its fourth, "I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!" increased its 18-49 rating by 38 percent (to a 2.9 rating from a 2.1), its adult 18-34 rating by 59 percent (2.7 vs. 1.7) and its men 18-34 rating by 92 percent (2.3 vs. 1.2).
"I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!" was the night's #1 primetime telecast on the broadcast networks in adults 18-34 and men 18-34.
At 10 p.m. ET, "Medium" tied for #1 in the time slot in adults 18-49 and won the hour outright among adults 25-54, women 18-49 and women 25-54. "Medium" (2.3/6 in 18-49, 7.4 million viewers overall) scored week-to-week gains for a second straight week to match the show's highest 18-49 rating since April 20.
NBC is currently tied for #1 for the night in 18-49 and is #1 outright in adults 18-34. If the result stands in Nielsen's official nationals for last night, it will mark the third consecutive night NBC has earned at least a share of the nightlong victory in 18-49.
