UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. � September 22, 2009 � With a top-scoring NFL telecast and potent numbers from the season finale of "America's Got Talent," the season debuts of "The Biggest Loser" and "The Office" and the series premieres of "Community" and "The Jay Leno Show," NBC dominated the primetime week of September 14-20 in adults 18-49 and total viewers, averaging a 3.7 rating, 11 share in 18-49 and 11.6 million viewers overall, according to in-home viewing figures from Nielsen Media Research. NBC also won the week in all key demographic ratings measures � adults, men and women 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54.

NBC won five of seven nights during the week of September 14-20 in primetime's key demographic of adults 18-49, as well as in total viewers � Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.

NBC's 3.7 rating for the week in 18-49 marks the highest average for any network in nearly six months, since Fox's 3.8 the week of March 23-29. And NBC's 11.6 million viewers overall for the week is the biggest weeklong average for any network since CBS's 12.4 million the week of March 30-April 5.

This week concludes the full 52-week 2008-09 television season. For the full season, NBC ranked #3 in primetime's key demographic of adults 18-49 with a 2.5 rating, 7 share, ahead of ABC (2.4/7) and within 0.1 of a point of #2 CBS (2.6/7). Fox, with a 3.1/9 in 18-49, ranked #1 for the period of September 22, 2008 through September 20, 2009.

NBC dominated the top tier of the week's program rankings in adults 18-49 with eight of the top 10 telecasts of the week � "NBC Sunday Night Football" (#1), "The Jay Leno Show"-Monday (#2), "The Office" (#4), "The Biggest Loser" and "Community" (#5, tied), "America's Got Talent"-Wednesday and "The Jay Leno Show"-Wednesday (#8, tied) and "The Jay Leno Show"-Tuesday (#10). Note: rankings exclude all football pre-game and post-game telecasts.

In total viewers, NBC had the top four shows of the week and six of the top 10, with "NBC Sunday Night Football" (#1, 24.8 million viewers overall), "The Jay Leno Show"-Monday (#2, 18.4 million), "America's Got Talent"-Wednesday (#3, 15.8 million), "America's Got Talent"-Monday (#4, 13.9 million), "The Jay Leno Show"-Wednesday (#6, 13.4 million) and "The Jay Leno Show"-Tuesday (#10, 11.1 million). Note: rankings exclude all football pre-game and post-game telecasts.

Primetime averages for the week of September 14-20 in adults 18-49 were NBC (3.7/11), CBS (2.4/7), Fox (2.0/6), ABC and Univision (1.4/4), CW (0.9/3) and Telemundo (0.4/1). In overall total viewers the weekly averages were NBC (11.6 million), CBS (8.3 million), Fox (5.3 million), ABC (4.4 million), Univision (3.5 million), CW (1.9 million) and Telemundo (0.9 million).

NBC highlights for the week of September 14-20:

* NBC Sports' "Sunday Night Football" telecast of the New York Giants at the Dallas Cowboys set 18-49 and total-viewer records for "NBC Sunday Night Football" and attracted the biggest overall audience for a regular-season primetime NFL telecast since December 1997.

* "Sunday Night Football" propelled NBC to a dominant win Sunday night, with a 64 percent margin of victory in adults 18-49 over the #2 network. This was the top-rated Sunday primetime performance for any network in both 18-49 and total viewers since ABC's coverage of the Academy Awards on February 22.

* On Friday, a two-hour "Dateline NBC" reported NBC's highest 18-49 rating in the time period since June 12 and biggest overall audience in the slot since October 17, 2008. "Dateline" ranked #1 among the major networks in the time period in adults 18-49, adults 25-54, total viewers and virtually all other key ratings categories.

* Also on Friday, "The Jay Leno Show" ranked #1 among the major networks in its time period in adults 18-49, adults 25-54, total viewers and all other key ratings categories, delivering the highest 18-49 rating for any Friday non-sports primetime telecast on any major network since May 15

* On Thursday, the sixth season premiere of "The Office" was the #1 telecast of the night in adults 18-49. "The Office" ranked #1 among the major networks in its time period in every key demographic.

* Also on Thursday, the series premiere of "Community" retained 93 percent of its 18-49 lead-in from "The Office," NBC's highest retention to date of an original "Office" lead-in in the time period with series programming. "Community" also scored NBC's highest non-sports 18-49 rating and biggest non-sports overall audience in its time period since April 2, the night of the "ER" finale. "Community" won the slot in all key demographics - adults, men and women 18-34; adults, men and women 18-49; and adults, men and women 25-54

* Additionally on Thursday, "The Jay Leno Show" ranked #1 among the major networks in its time period in adults 18-49 and adults 25-54 and #2 in total viewers. "The Jay Leno Show" delivered NBC's highest 18-49 rating in this Thursday time period since April 9 and biggest overall audience since April 16, excluding sports telecasts.

* On Wednesday, the two-hour season finale of "America's Got Talent" set a new series record with an average 15.8 million viewers, topping all previous "Talent" telecasts. "Talent" scored NBC's top 18-49 and total-viewers results in the time period since the Beijing Summer Olympics in August 2008.

* Wednesday's "America's Got Talent" finale ranked #1 in adults 18-49, adults 25-54 and total viewers

* Also on Wednesday, "The Jay Leno Show" ranked #1 among the major networks in its time period in adults 18-49, adults 25-54, total viewers and all other key ratings categories. It delivered NBC's highest 18-49 and total-viewer results in its time period since the August 2008 Summer Olympic Games.

* On Tuesday, the season premiere of "The Biggest Loser" weighed in with the highest 18-49 and total-viewer results for a "Biggest Loser" fall debut since the first cycle launched in October 2004. On Monday, September 14, from 8-10:01 p.m. ET, a special Monday telecast of "America's Got Talent" (3.3 rating, 9 share in adults 18-49, 13.9 million viewers overall). ranked #1 among the major networks in adults 18-49, total viewers and numerous other key ratings categories. The 3.3 rating for "Talent" marks NBC's best performance in the Monday 8-10 p.m. ET slot since February 9, 2009, and the 13.9 million is NBC's biggest overall audience in the time period, excluding Olympics, since March 19, 2007. Prior to the show's Wednesday finale, this was "Talent's" biggest overall viewership and biggest 18-49 rating since August 11.

From 10:01-11 p.m. ET, "The Jay Leno Show" (5.3/14 in adults 18-49; 6.4/15 in adults 25-54, 18.4 million viewers overall) ranked #1 among the major networks in the time period in adults 18-49, #1 in adults 25-54 (the key demographic for late local news) and #1 in total viewers and all other key ratings categories. "The Jay Leno Show" was the #1 telecast on the major networks Monday night in adults 18-49, adults 25-54 and total viewers.

"The Jay Leno Show" delivered NBC's highest 18-49 rating in the time period since November 3, 2008 ("Saturday Night Live Presidential Bash"), and biggest overall audience in the time slot since the August 2008 Summer Olympic Games.

NBC ranked #1 among the major networks Monday night in 18-49, adults 25-54, total viewers and all other key ratings categories.

On Tuesday, September 15 from 8-10:01 p.m. ET, the season premiere of NBC's "The Biggest Loser" averaged a 3.8/11 in adults 18-49 and 9.9 million viewers overall. Versus "Loser's" year-ago premiere results (3.2/9 in 18-49, 7.9 million viewers overall), this year's "Loser" debut was up 19 percent in 18-49 and up 25 percent in total viewers.

This marks the highest 18-49 and total-viewer results for a "Biggest Loser" fall debut since the first cycle launched on Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2004 (4.1/10 in 18-49, 9.9 million viewers overall).

In the time period, "The Biggest Loser" ranked #1 among the major networks in adults 18-49 and all other key demographics. From its first half-hour to its fourth, "Loser" increased by 28 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 4.1 from a 3.2) and by 21 percent or more than 1.8 million persons in total viewers (10.6 million vs. 8.7 million).

Tuesday from 10:01-11 p.m. ET, "The Jay Leno Show" (3.4/9 in adults 18-49, 4.2/11 in adults 25-54, 11.1 million viewers overall) ranked #1 among the major networks in the time period in adults 18-49, #1 in adults 25-54 and #1 in total viewers, plus most other key ratings categories. The time-period competition included CBS's "Big Brother" finale and ABC's rebroadcast of the Barbara Walters special on Patrick Swayze, featuring new material.

Versus Jay Leno's 2008-09 average at 11:35 p.m. ET on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," Tuesday's telecast was up substantially in adults 18-49 (3.4 vs. 1.4), adults 25-54 (4.2 vs. 1.8) and total viewers (11.1 million vs. 5.1 million). Versus NBC's Monday-through-Friday 10-11 p.m. ET non-sports average over the prior 52 weeks, Tuesday's telecast was also up substantially in adults 18-49 (3.4 vs. 2.2), adults 25-54 (4.2 vs. 2.7) and total viewers (11.1 million vs. 6.9 million).

NBC ranked #1 among the major networks Tuesday night in 18-49, adults 25-54, total viewers and all other key ratings categories. NBC delivered its highest Tuesday 18-49 average since May 12, the night of the prior "Biggest Loser" finale.

On Wednesday, September 16 from 8-10:01 p.m. ET, the season finale of "America's Got Talent" averaged a 3.5/10 in adults 18-49 and 15.8 million viewers overall. Versus "Talent's" year-ago finale results (3.3/8 in 18-49, 12.7 million viewers overall), this year's final telecast was up 6 percent in 18-49 and up 24 percent in total viewers.

The 15.8 million viewers overall for this year's finale is a series record for "America's Got Talent," counting finales and all other telecasts. "Talent" scored NBC's top 18-49 and total-viewers results in the time period since the Beijing Summer Olympics in August 2008. Excluding Olympics, this is NBC's top 18-49 rating in the time period since January 2, 2008 and biggest overall audience since November 28, 2001.

In its two-hour time period, "America's Got Talent" ranked #1 among the major networks in adults 18-49, adults 25-54 and total viewers. From its first half-hour to its fourth, "Talent" increased by 65 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 4.3/11 from a 2.6/8) and by 43 percent or more than 5.5 million persons in total viewers (18.5 million vs. 13.0 million).

Wednesday from 10:01-11 p.m. ET, "The Jay Leno Show" (3.5/10 in adults 18-49, 4.4/12 in adults 25-54, 13.4 million viewers overall) ranked #1 among the major networks in the time period in adults 18-49, #1 in adults 25-54 and #1 in total viewers, plus all other key ratings categories. Wednesday's time-period competition included CBS's "CSI: NY" encore and ABC's original "Primetime: Family Secrets."

Wednesday's "Jay Leno Show" delivered NBC's highest 18-49 and total-viewer results in the time period since the August 2008 Summer Olympic Games.

Versus Jay Leno's 2008-09 average at 11:35 p.m. ET on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," Wednesday's telecast was up substantially in adults 18-49 (3.5 vs. 1.4), adults 25-54 (4.4 vs. 1.8) and total viewers (13.4 million vs. 5.1 million). Thursday from 8:30-9 p.m. ET, the second season premiere of "Parks and Recreation" (2.1/6 in 18-49, 4.9 million viewers overall) built on its 18-49 lead-in from "Saturday Night Live Weekend Update Thursday" by 5 percent in adults 18-49 and 22 percent in adults 18-34 (2.2 vs. 1.8).

Thursday from 9-9:30 p.m. ET, the sixth season premiere of "The Office" (4.1/12 in 18-49, 8.2 million viewers overall) was the #1 telecast of the night in adults 18-49. In the time period, "The Office" ranked #1 among the major networks in every key demographic.

Thursday from 9:30-10:01 p.m. ET, the series premiere of "Community" (3.8/10 in 18-49, 7.9 million viewers overall) retained 93 percent of its 18-49 lead-in from "The Office." That's NBC's highest retention to date of an original "Office" lead-in in this time period with series programming. "Community" scored NBC's highest non-sports 18-49 rating and biggest non-sports overall audience in the time period since April 2, the night of the "ER" finale. On Saturday, September 19 from 8-8:30 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "The Office" delivered a 0.6/2 in 18-49 and 1.6 million viewers overall. From 8:30-9 p.m., a rebroadcast of "Community" averaged a 0.5/2 and 1.5 million viewers overall.

Saturday at 9 p.m. ET, a rebroadcast of "Law & Order" (0.7/3 in 18-49, 3.5 million viewers overall) built on its lead-in from the previous half-hour by 40 percent in adults 18-49.

Saturday at 10 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (1.1/4 in 18-49, 4.5 million viewers overall) built on its lead-in by 57 percent in 18-49.

On Sunday, Sept. 20, the "NBC Sunday Night Football" telecast of the New York Giants at the Dallas Cowboys propelled NBC to a convincing Sunday win by all key measures. For its full duration, the Giants-Cowboys game averaged a 9.8/26 in adults 18-49, 24.8 million viewers overall and a 15.1/25 household rating/share from 8:31-11:50 p.m. ET.

The September 20 telecast set 18-49 and total-viewer records for "NBC Sunday Night Football" and attracted the biggest overall audience for a regular-season primetime NFL telecast since December 15, 1997 (Denver-San Francisco, ABC, 26.9 million).

For the night (from 7:30-11 p.m. ET), NBC averaged a 8.2/22 in 18-49 and 21.2 million viewers overall, up 5 percent in 18-49 rating and 11 percent in total viewers versus the same night last year. This was the highest rated Sunday primetime performance for any network in both 18-49 and total viewers since ABC's coverage of the Academy Awards on February 22. It's NBC's top-scoring Sunday in 18-49 and total viewers since the Super Bowl February 1. Excluding the Super Bowl and Olympic nights, it's NBC's best Sunday in total viewers since January 25, 2004 ("Golden Globes," 23.4 million).

NBC won Sunday night by all key ratings measures. In adults 18-49, NBC's margin of victory over the #2 network was 64 percent in 18-49 (8.2 vs. a 5.0 for CBS) and 37 percent, or more than 5.7 million persons in total viewers (21.2 million vs. 15.5 million for CBS).

Also on Sunday, "Football Night in America 2" from 7:30-7:55 p.m. ET averaged a 2.7/8 in 18-49, 7.1 million viewers overall and a 4.6/8 household rating/share. "Football Night in America 3" from 7:55-8:19 p.m. delivered a 4.9/15 in 18-49, 13.4 million viewers overall and an 8.3/14 in households. From 8:19-8:31 p.m., "NBC Sunday Night Football Pre Kickoff" averaged a 7.2/20 in 18-49, 18.9 million viewers overall and an 11.5/19 in households. Note: "Football Night in America" from 7-7:30 p.m. ET was sustaining programming and does not figure in the nightly or weekly primetime averages.
