During the week of September 21, 2009, premiere week of the 2009-10 season, ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live" attracted its largest audience (1.80 million) in 6 months and its highest Adult 18-49 number (788,000) in 3 months � since the weeks of 3/2/09 and 6/8/09, respectively. Additionally, "JKL" drew is second-largest premiere week audience ever, behind only the 2007-08 premiere week.
� "JKL" outperformed NBC's "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" during premiere week by 29% in Total Viewers (1.80 million vs. 1.40 million), representing the ABC late-night program's largest margin ever over "Fallon." In fact, for the first time during the course of a non-repeat week, "JKL" outdrew the NBC late-night program in viewers on each night of the week, gaining viewers on each night: (Monday � 1.61 million vs. 1.20 million; Tuesday � 1.68 million vs. 1.44 million; Wednesday � 1.74 million vs. 1.59 million; Thursday � 1.83 million vs. 1.34 million; Friday � 2.00 million vs. 1.41 million).
� During premiere week, "JKL" turned in its most-competitive weekly performance ever to NBC's "The Tonight" in Total Viewers (1.80 million vs. 2.40 million) and Adults 18-49 (788,000 vs. 1.29 million).
� "Jimmy Kimmel Live" bettered CBS' "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" among Women 18-49 (472,000 vs. 429,000) and Women 25-54 (520,000 vs. 512,000), representing the 5th year in a row that "JKL" bested the CBS program during premiere week.
� On Friday (9/25/09), featuring Lebron James and his high school basketball coach, Dru Joyce, and teammate Willie McGee, plus Chef Chris Bianco and musical guest Esther Dean, "JKL" posted its strongest performance in Total Viewers (2.0 million) and Adults 18-49 (845,000) since June for any "Kimmel" telecast � since 6/11/09.

"NIGHTLINE" BESTS "TONIGHT SHOW" IN TOTAL VIEWERS
14 WEEKS IN A ROW
"NIGHTLINE" GROWS +23% AMONG A25-54 WEEK TO WEEK,
WHILE "TONIGHT SHOW" DECLINES -26%
ABC News' "Nightline" placed second among Total Viewers, Adults 25-54 and Adults 18-49 for the week of September 21, 2009, according to Nielsen Media Research. This marks the 14th consecutive week "Nightline" outperformed "The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien." The last time "Nightline" outperformed "Tonight" 14 weeks in a row in Total Viewers was in 1995. NBC's "The Tonight Show" experienced the program's lowest total viewing average since at least the 1991/1992 season. Additionally, "Nightline" experienced its highest total viewing delivery in almost a year and best A25-54 delivery in eight months.
"Nightline" continues to experience growth week to week and year to year. The program grew +4% among Total Viewers versus the same week last year, as "Tonight" declined -49%. Week to week, "Nightline" increased 23% among Adults 25-54, 28% among Adults 18-49 and 15% among Total Viewers; "Tonight," in comparison, declined -26% in A25-54, -27% in A18-49, and -27% in Total Viewers.
ABC News' "Nightline" is anchored by Cynthia McFadden, Terry Moran and Martin Bashir. John Donvan and Vicki Mabrey are correspondents. James Goldston is the executive producer. The program airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m., ET on the ABC Television Network.
