SURVIVING THE CUT Debuts as 'Best New Discovery Program of the Summer'
On Wednesday, August 18, Discover Channel had two of the top three non-fiction cable programs on cable among men with premieres of the all-new SURVIVING THE CUT and MAN VS WILD.
The series premiere of SURVIVING THE CUT at 10PM E/P finished second Wednesday night among M18-49/M25-54 and out-delivered several broadcast programs on ABC, CBS and NBC among M25-54/M18-49. The show earned a 1.29 HH/.95 P25-54 AA%.
The lead-in at 9PM E/P was fan favorite MAN VS WILD, which finished as the #3 non-fiction cable program in prime among M18-49 and finished in the top five non-fiction programs for M18-34 (#4), M25-54 (#5), P18-49 (#5) and P18-34 (#5). The show earned a 1.32HH/.82 P25-54 AA%).
Driven by these successes, Discovery Channel was the #2 cable network in M18-49 delivery during Prime. Discovery channel was also in the top five among M25-54 (#3), M18-34 (#3), P18-49 (#4), P18-34 (#4) and P25-54 (#5) delivery.
SURVIVING THE CUT takes viewer into the intense world of military special forces training. From divers and snipers to para-rescue men and bomb specialists, the elite and how they earn a place in the coveted units are the focus in this compelling all new series.
