Oxygen Out-Delivers CBS Network in W18-34 Demo for 10pm Hour
New York, NY - August 25, 2010 - Oxygen's new competition series "Hair Battle Spectacular" delivered one million viewers for the first time this season; and in the 10 PM hour beat broadcast network CBS among W18-34 (it's key demo). The program continues to experience weekly growth with last night's episode reaching hair-raising heights with double-digit growth in all key demos, W18-34 (up + 36%), A18-34 (up + 50%), W18-49 (up + 30%), A18-49 (up +40%) and total viewers (up +26%) vs. the prior week's episode, according to Nielsen Media Research. The digital front is growing as well with www.Oxygen.com enjoying double-digit growth from the "Hair Battle Spectacular" show site, increasing in daily uniques (up +21%), page views (up +10%) and video streams (up +89%) vs. last week.
In the 10pm hour, Oxygen was the second most watched cable network among W18-34 (behind USA) and was ranked the #4 television network among W18-34 (out-delivering CBS). It finished in the Top 5 most watched cable networks among both W18-49 and A18-34.
Last night's episode of "Hair Battle Spectacular" featured "Bad Girls Club" alum Natalie Nunn as a guest judge. She joined show judges Derek J and Lindsay Albanese, voicing her opinions on the stylists' whimsical candy and toy-themed creations. "Hair Battle Spectacular" is produced by 3 Ball Productions with JD Roth, Todd Nelson, Adam Greener, and Mike Nichols serving as executive producers.
