"60 MINUTES" MAKES TOP 10 FOR THE SECOND TIME IN THREE WEEKS AND DELIVERS ITS BEST KEY DEMOS SINCE JANUARY
Unique Users of 60 MINUTES Online Content are up 55 Percent Over Last Year
60 MINUTES made the top 10 for the second time in three weeks, delivering its best adults 25-54 and adults 18-49 since last January. America's number-one news program also won its time slot, beating NBC's Sunday Night Football in households and viewers.
The broadcast posted a 9.4/15 household rating and share and drew 15.02 million viewers to finish at # 6 for the week in both categories, according to Nielsen live-plus-same-day ratings for Sunday, Oct. 10. 60 MINUTES' performance in the key demos of adults 25-54 (4.7/12) and adults 18-49 (3.7/10) was its best since January 17, 2010.
Compared to the same night last year, 60 MINUTES was up +3% in households, +7% in adults 25-54 and +6% in adults 18-49.
Online, 60MINUTES content experienced a 55 percent increase in unique users over the same two weeks last year thanks to the launch of 60MinutesOvertime.com. In addition to the unique user increase, 60MINUTES.com. combined with 60MinutesOvertime.com also had upticks in video streams (+48 percent) and page views (+37 percent) compared with the traffic patterns on 60 MINUTES.com during the same period last year.
Sunday's (10) broadcast featured Steve Kroft's report on high frequency stock trading, a Bob Simon segment on Nelson Mandela and Anderson Cooper's profile of rapper Eminem.
60 MinutesOvertime.com featured a Correspondent Candid with Anderson Cooper about his Eminem interview and an Overtime Original feature about the massive data center in New Jersey housing the New York Stock Exchange's computers. The Overtime Rewind segment was Steve Kroft's 1999 profile of the late Peanuts creator Charles Schulz on the occasion of the cartoon's 60th anniversary.
