UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - December 9, 2010 - NBC's late-night lineup has scored ratings wins for the week of November 29-December 3, as "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" and "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" led their time periods over all cable and broadcast entertainment competition in viewers 18-49 and total viewers.
At 12:35 a.m. ET, encore telecasts of "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" out-delivered CBS's first-run "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" in adult 18-49 viewers, marking the 40th straight week Jimmy has topped "Late Late Show" in 18-49 viewers (excluding the week of delays for Wimbledon coverage). "Late Night" tied "Late Late Show" in adult 18-49 rating last week but led by an 11 percent margin in 18-49 viewers (805,000 persons vs. 724,000).
Through the first 11 weeks of the 2010-11 season, "Tonight" is leading "Late Show" by 7 percent in adult 18-49 viewers (1.258 million vs. 1.180 million), reversing the order at this point one year ago, when "Late Show" held a slight 0.3 percent lead (1.353 million vs. 1.349 million). In total viewers, "Tonight" leads "Late Show" through 11 weeks of the season by a 7 percent margin (3.797 million vs. 3.560 million), reversing the order of one year ago, when "Late Show" led by a 67 percent advantage (4.173 million vs. 2.505 million).
Through the first 11 weeks of the 2010-11 season, Jimmy Fallon is leading "Late Late Show" by a 14 percent margin in adult 18-49 viewers (784,000 vs. 690,000), reversing the order of one year ago, when "Late Late Show" held a slight 0.3 percent lead (792,000 vs. 790,000). In total viewers, Jimmy has cut the year-ago "Late Late Show" lead down to 3 percent (1.773 million vs. 1.721 million) from its year-ago 40 percent (1.925 million vs. 1.372 million).
Versus the first 11 weeks of last season, "Tonight" is matching its year-ago 1.0 rating in adults 18-49 and is running within 7 percent of its year-ago 18-49 viewership (1.258 million vs. 1.349 million), while "Late Show" is down 10 percent in rating (0.9 vs. 1.0) and down 13 percent in 18-49 viewers (1.180 million vs. 1.353 million). At 12:35 a.m. ET, Jimmy Fallon is matching his year-ago 0.6 rating in adults 18-49 and running within 1 percent of last year in 18-49 viewers (784,000 vs. 790,000), while "Late Late Show" is down in 18-49 rating by 17 percent (0.5 vs. 0.6) and down in 18-49 viewers by 13 percent (690,000 vs. 792,000).
In total viewers, "Tonight" is up 52 percent versus its average viewership for the first 11 weeks of last season (3.797 million vs. 2.505 million), while "Late Show" is down 15 percent (3.560 million vs. 4.173 million). At 12:35 a.m. ET, Jimmy Fallon is up 25 percent versus his year-ago pace in total viewers (1.721 million vs. 1.372 million), while "Late Late Show" is down 8 percent (1.773 million vs. 1.925 million).
For the week at 1:35 a.m. ET, �Last Call with Carson Daly� jumped 16 percent versus the same week last year in 18-49 viewers (526,000 vs. 452,000) and 39 percent in total viewers (1.050 million vs. 757,000). Through the first 11 weeks of the season, "Last Call" is up by 11 percent in 18-49 viewers (487,000 vs. 438,000) and up 25 percent in total viewers (978,000 vs. 780,000).
