UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - January 13, 2011 - The January 8 edition of "Saturday Night Live" has generated the show's highest adult 18-49 rating since November 2008 and biggest overall viewership since May 2010.

The January 8 telecast of "Saturday Night Live," hosted by Jim Carrey with musical guest The Black Keys, dominated its time period with a 4.9 rating, 20 share in adults 18-49 and 11.5 million viewers overall. Note that the start of the January 8 telecast was delayed to 11:46 p.m. ET by an NFL overrun.

It was "Saturday Night Live's" highest 18-49 rating since the November 1, 2008 telecast (hosted by Ben Affleck with musical guest David Cook and featuring an appearance by Presidential candidate Sen. John McCain). In total viewers, it was the top "SNL" since the May 8, 2010 edition (hosted by Betty White with musical guest Jay-Z).

"Saturday Night Live" was the #2 entertainment telecast for the week of January 3-9 on ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and CW, ahead of every non-sports primetime program except Fox's Sunday telecast of "The Simpsons" (5.7).

Versus the same night last year, "Saturday Night Live" was up 11 percent in both 18-49 rating (4.9 vs. 4.4) and total viewers (11.534 million vs. 10.432 million).
