'LAST CALL WITH CARSON DALY' IS UP SEASON TO DATE BY 7 PERCENT IN 18-49 VIEWERS AND 18 PERCENT IN TOTAL VIEWERS
UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - April 14, 2011 - NBC's late-night lineup has delivered ratings wins for the week of April 4-8, with "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" finishing #1 in viewers 18-49 and total viewers versus CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman" and ABC's combination of "Nightline" and "Jimmy Kimmel Live." At 12:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" also ranked #1 in viewers 18-49 and total viewers over CBS's "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson."
Note that Monday, Thursday and Friday CBS results are excluded from these averages due to late starts for basketball and golf coverage.
In adult 18-49 rating points, "Tonight" tied "Late Show" for the week (0.9 rating each), while Jay generated the bigger 18-49 audience (1.195 million vs. 1.191 million). At 12:35 a.m. ET, Jimmy Fallon also tied "Late Late Show" in 18-49 rating (0.6 each) and generated the bigger 18-49 viewership (750,000 vs. 725,000).
So far during the 2010-11 television season versus the first 29 weeks of last season, "Tonight" is up by 23 percent in total viewers (3.874 million vs. 3.141 million), while "Late Show" is down 11 percent (3.589 million vs. 4.050 million). At 12:35 a.m. ET, Jimmy Fallon is up 16 percent versus his year-ago pace in total viewers (1.772 million vs. 1.529 million), while "Late Late Show" is down 8 percent (1.762 million vs. 1.912 million).
At 1:35 a.m. ET, "Last Call with Carson Daly" is up so far this season versus one year ago by 7 percent in 18-49 viewers (496,000 vs. 464,000) and up 18 percent in total viewers (994,000 vs. 841,000).
Jay Leno has ranked #1 for 27 of 29 weeks this season versus "Late Show" in viewers 18-49 and total viewers. Jimmy Fallon has ranked #1 versus "Late Late Show" in viewers 18-49 for 29 of 29 weeks this season. In total viewers, Jimmy has won 17 of the last 21 weeks versus "Late Late Show."
