"The Voice" and the Tuesday and Wednesday Editions of "America's Got Talent" Are the Top Three Non-Sports Programs of the Week

NBC RESULTS FOR THE PRIMETIME WEEK OF JUNE 6-12

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - June 14, 2011 - Paced by "The Voice" and the Tuesday and Wednesday editions of "America's Got Talent," which were the top three non-sports programs of the week in all key measures, NBC tied for #2 for the week of June 6-12 in adults 18-49, averaging a 1.7 rating, 5 share in adults 18-49 and 5.8 million viewers overall, according to in-home viewing figures from Nielsen Media Research. NBC ranked #2 outright for the week in adults 25-54 and various other key demographics.

This week, "The Voice" and the Tuesday and Wednesday editions of "America's Got Talent" were the top three non-sports programs of the week in all key ratings categories, trailing only NBA Finals telecasts among all programs. In adults 18-49, "The Voice" ranked #5 among all programs, behind three NBA games and Sunday's NBA post-game show, and the Tuesday and Wednesday editions of "America's Got Talent" tied at #6.

"The Voice" and the Tuesday and Wednesday telecasts of "America's Got Talent" were also the top three non-sports programs of the week in adults 18-34, adults 25-54 and other key demographic measures

In total viewers this week, Tuesday's "America's Got Talent" was the #1 non-sports program of the week, averaging 12.9 million viewers. Wednesday's "America's Got Talent" (12.6 million) was #2 and "The Voice" (12.3 million) was #3. Among all programs, the three NBC shows ranked #5, #6 and #7 respectively, behind only the NBA telecasts.

Primetime averages for the week of June 6-12 in adults 18-49 were ABC (3.5/11), NBC and Fox (1.7/5), CBS (1.1/3) and CW (0.3/1). In overall total viewers the weekly averages were ABC (9.2 million), CBS (6.5 million), NBC (5.8 million), Fox (4.5 million) and CW (0.8 million).

NBC highlights for the week of June 6-12:

* On Tuesday, "America's Got Talent" ranked #1 in the 8-9 p.m. ET hour against all broadcast and cable competition in every key ratings measure, including adults 18-34, adults 18-49, adults 25-54 and total viewers. "Talent" finished within 0.1 of a rating point of last week's premiere rating in the hour.

* From its first half-hour to its second, "America's Got Talent" grew by 24 percent in adults 18-49 and by 21 percent or more than 2.4 million persons in total viewers

* Also on Tuesday, "The Voice," airing opposite Game 4 of the NBA Finals, was the #1 non-sports choice in all of television in all key ratings measures, including adults 18-34, adults 18-49, adults 25-54 and total viewers. "The Voice" ranked #1 outright in all key adult-female demographics, topping even the NBA Finals in those demos.

* Despite the formidable competition of the NBA game, the 4.6 rating in adults 18-49 achieved by "The Voice" on Tuesday was higher than the 18-49 rating of every non-sports telecast to air last summer on ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox or CW, with the sole exception of the "Glee" finale, which delivered a 4.7 rating on June 8, 2010.

* Together "Talent" and "The Voice" propelled NBC to a #1 finish in primetime Tuesday in total viewers, adults 25-54 and all key adult-female demographics. In adults 18-49, NBC finished a strong #2 for the night, only 0.2 of a rating point behind ABC's basketball-fueled performance.

* The Wednesday season debut of "America's Got Talent" was the #1 telecast on television this night in adults 18-49, total viewers and other key measures, topping all other broadcast and cable competition. It was up versus last year's Wednesday premiere by 28 percent in adults 18-49 and 22 percent or 2.3 million persons in total viewers.

* Excluding finales, this was the top-rated Wednesday edition of "Talent" since July 2006, during the show's first season.

* From its first half-hour to its fourth, "America's Got Talent" grew by 32 percent in adults 18-49 and by 21 percent or 2.4 million persons in total viewers. From 9-10 p.m. ET, the first hour of "Talent" topped the second hour of Fox's "So You Think You Can Dance" in head-to-head competition in adults 18-49, total viewers and other key categories.

* NBC ranked #1 in primetime Wednesday night versus all broadcast and cable competition in adults 18-49, adults 25-54, total viewers and other key measures.

* NBC iced a primetime win Friday night, ranking #1 among all broadcast and cable networks in adults 18-49, adults 25-54 and all key adult-male demographics, propelled by NBC Sports' coverage of the Boston Bruins-Vancouver Canucks Stanley Cup Final Game 5.

* On Sunday, an encore telecast of "America's Got Talent" grew from its first half-hour to its fourth by 36 percent in adults 18-49, 38 percent in adults 25-54 and 22 percent in total viewers, despite competition from the sixth and deciding game of the NBA Finals.

Ratings reflect "live plus same day" data unless otherwise noted. Season-to-date figures are averages of "live plus seven day" data except for the two most recent weeks, which are "live plus same day."

Additional NBC highlights for the week of June 6-12

On Monday, June 6 from 8-9 p.m. ET, a rebroadcast of "Minute To Win It" averaged a 1.0 rating, 3 share in adults 18-49 and 3.9 million viewers overall. "Minute" increased from its first half-hour to its second by 22 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 1.1 from a 0.9) and by 18 percent in total viewers (4.261 million vs. 3.615 million).

Monday from 9-10 p.m. ET, "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" averaged a 0.9/3 in 18-49 and 4.6 million viewers overall. From its first half-hour to its second, "Law & Order: CI" grew in all key ratings measures, including gains of 11 percent in adults 18-49 (to a 1.0 rating from a 0.9), 17 percent in adults 25-54 (1.4 vs. 1.2) and 18 percent in total viewers (4.984 million vs. 4.229 million).

Monday from 10-11 p.m. ET, "Law & Order: LA" (1.3/4 in adults 18-49, 6.4 million viewers overall) built on its lead-in from the previous hour by 44 percent in 18-49 rating and 38 percent in total viewers.

On Tuesday, June 7 from 8-9 p.m. ET, "America's Got Talent" (3.7/12 in adults 18-49, 12.9 million viewers overall) ranked #1 in its hour against all broadcast and cable competition in every key ratings measure, including adults 18-34, adults 18-49, adults 25-54 and total viewers. "Talent" finished within 0.1 of a rating point of last week's premiere rating in the 8-9 p.m. hour (3.7 vs. 3.8)

From its first half-hour to its second, "America's Got Talent" grew by 24 percent in adults 18-49 (to a 4.1 rating from a 3.3) and by 21 percent or more than 2.4 million persons in total viewers (14.2 million vs. 11.7 million).

Versus NBC's average in this time period last summer, "Talent" was up 147 percent in 18-49 rating (3.7 vs. a 1.5, "live plus same day," non-sports) and up 149 percent in total viewers (12.932 million vs. 5.198 million).

Tuesday from 9-11 p.m. ET, "The Voice" (4.6/12 in 18-49, 12.3 million viewers overall), airing opposite Game 4 of the NBA Finals, was the #1 non-sports choice in all of television in all key ratings measures, including adults 18-34, adults 18-49, adults 25-54 and total viewers. "The Voice" ranked #1 outright in all key adult-female demographics, topping even the NBA Finals.

Despite the formidable competition of the NBA game, the 4.6 adult 18-49 rating achieved by "The Voice" on this night was higher than the 18-49 rating of every non-sports telecast to air last summer on ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox or CW, with the sole exception of the "Glee" finale, which delivered a 4.7 rating on June 8, 2010. Versus NBC's average in this time period last summer, the June 7 telecast of "The Voice" was up 53 percent in 18-49 rating (4.6 vs. a 3.0, "live plus same day,' non-sports).

Together "Talent" and "The Voice" propelled NBC to a #1 finish in primetime in total viewers, adults 25-54 and all key adult-female demographics. In adults 18-49, NBC finished a strong #2 for the night, only 0.2 of a rating point behind ABC's basketball-fueled performance (4.3 vs. 4.5).

On Wednesday, June 8 from 8-9 p.m. ET, "Minute To Win It" (1.3/4 in 18-49, 4.7 million viewers overall) delivered its highest Wednesday 18-49 and total-viewer results since February 9. "Minute" ranked #2 in the hour among ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and CW in adults 18-49, adults 25-54, total viewers and other key measures. Versus its most recent first-run episode in this slot, "Minute To Win It" was up 18 percent in adults 18-49 (to a 1.3 rating from a 1.1) and 35 percent in total viewers (4.700 million vs. 3.491 million).

From 9-11 p.m. ET, the Wednesday season debut of "America's Got Talent" (3.7/10 in adults 18-49, 12.6 million viewers overall) was the #1 telecast on television this night in adults 18-49, total viewers and other key measures, topping all other broadcast and cable competition.

This year's Wednesday season debut of "America's Got Talent" was up versus last year's Wednesday premiere by 28 percent in adults 18-49 (3.7 rating vs. a 2.9) and 22 percent or 2.3 million persons in total viewers (12.645 million vs. 10.358 million).

From its first half-hour to its fourth, "Talent" grew by 32 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 4.1 from a 3.1) and by 21 percent or 2.4 million persons in total viewers (13.5 million vs. 11.1 million). In the 9-10 p.m. ET hour, the first hour of "Talent" topped the second hour of Fox's "So You Think You Can Dance" in head-to-head competition in adults 18-49 (3.3 vs. 2.9), total viewers (11.8 million vs. 7.2 million) and other key categories.

Excluding finales, this was the top-rated Wednesday edition of "Talent" since July 5, 2006, during the show's first season. "Talent" scored NBC's highest 18-49 rating in this time period, excluding sports, since September 16, 2009 and NBC's biggest overall viewership in the slot since September 15, 2010.

NBC ranked #1 in primetime Wednesday night versus all broadcast and cable competition in adults 18-49, adults 25-54, total viewers and other key measures.

On Thursday, June 9 at 8 p.m. ET, a rebroadcast of "Community" delivered a 0.5/2 in 18-49 and 2.0 million viewers overall. From 8:30-9 p.m., an encore telecast of "30 Rock" averaged a 0.6/2 in 18-49 and 1.9 million viewers overall.

Thursday from 9-9:31 p.m. ET, a rebroadcast of "The Office" (1.0/3 in 18-49, 2.3 million viewers overall) built on its lead-in by 67 percent in 18-49 rating. From 9:31-10 p.m., an encore telecast of "Parks and Recreation" (0.9/3 in 18-49, 1.9 million viewers overall) retained 90 percent of its 18-49 lead-in from "The Office."

Thursday from 10-11 p.m. ET, "Love Bites" (1.0/3 in adults 18-49, 2.4 million viewers overall) built on its lead-in by 11 percent in 18-49 rating and 22 percent in total viewers.

On Friday, June 10 from 8-11 p.m. ET, NBC Sports coverage of the Boston Bruins-Vancouver Canucks Stanley Cup Final Game 5 averaged a 1.6/6 in adults 18-49 and 4.3 million viewers overall. NBC ranked #1 among all broadcast and cable networks in primetime in adults 18-49, adults 25-54 and in all key adult-male demographics - men 18-34, men 18-49 and men 25-54. In total viewers, NBC ranked #2 in primetime.

On Saturday, June 11 from 8-10 p.m. ET, the NBC Movie of the Week telecast of "Field of Vision" averaged a 0.6/2 in 18-49 and 2.8 million viewers overall. From its first half-hour to its fourth, "Field of Vision" grew by 20 percent in adults 18-49 (to a 0.6 rating from a 0.5), 29 percent in adults 25-54 (0.9 vs. 0.7) and 29 percent in total viewers (3.146 million vs. 2.441 million).

From 10-11 p.m. ET, a rebroadcast of "Law & Order: LA" averaged a 0.7/2 in 18-49 and 3.7 million viewers overall. "Law & Order: LA" increased from its first half-hour to its second in all key ratings categories, including gains of 33 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 0.8 from a 0.6), 38 percent in adults 25-54 (1.1 vs. 0.8) and 22 percent in total viewers (4.036 million vs. 3.301 million).

On Sunday, June 12 from 7-8 p.m. ET, a rebroadcast of "Dateline NBC" averaged a 0.9/3 in 18-49 and 3.9 million viewers overall. From 8-9 p.m., an encore telecast of "Minute To Win It" delivered a 0.8/2 in 18-49 and 3.3 million viewers overall. .

Sunday from 9-11 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of Wednesday's two-hour "America's Got Talent" averaged a 1.4/3 in 18-49 and 4.8 million viewers overall. Despite competition from the sixth and deciding game of the NBA Finals, the "Talent" rebroadcast increased from its first half-hour to its fourth by 36 percent in adults 18-49 (to a 1.5 rating from a 1.1), 38 percent in adults 25-54 (1.8 vs. 1.3) and 22 percent in total viewers (5.111 million vs. 4.179 million). "Talent" matched the 18-49 rating of the prior week's rebroadcast in this time period despite the game 6 competition.
