OXYGEN'S "THE GLEE PROJECT" HITS SERIES HIGHS IN KEY DEMOS AND TOTAL VIEWERS
Series Shows Triple-Digit Growth Since Premiere
Episode Six Watched By 1.27M Viewers on a Time Shifted Basis
NEW YORK - August 9, 2011 - Oxygen's critically-acclaimed "The Glee Project" delivered 912,000 total viewers in last Sunday's original episode earning its highest numbers in total viewership to date as well as in key demos W18-49, A25-54, W25-54 and A12-24 , according to Nielsen Media Research. Compared to last week's original episode, Sunday's episode rose +31% among A18-49 (442,000 vs. 338,000), +26% among W18-49 (335,000 vs. 265,000), +24% among W25-54 (300,000 vs. 242,000), +22% among A25-54 (403,000 vs. 330,000) and +16% among total viewers (912,000 vs. 789,000). Since its premiere on June 12th, the series has posted impressive triple-digit growth with +133% among W18-49, +109% among A18-49, +102% among A25-54 and +100% in total viewers. Additionally, L7 data now available for the first six episodes of the series demonstrates that "The Glee Project" is averaging nearly one million viewers (993,000 total viewers) with episode six scoring over one million (1,271,000) total viewers. L7 data accounts for viewers who watched "The Glee Project" on a time shifted basis.
In the digital space, Sunday's episode continued its reign as the #1 show site on Oxygen.com. "The Glee Project" marked the best premiere day for the show site season to date with respect to daily unique visitors, exceeding the series premiere by +30%. Since premiere, "The Glee Project" has streamed nearly 8 million video streams across Oxygen.com, Oxygen.com Mobile, and Hulu.com. Finally, according to Trendrr, "The Glee Project" climbed two spots for Sunday's premiere, ranking as the #3 most mentioned program amongst all Cable TV programs Sunday with regard to social media mentions. "The Glee Project" outranked E's "Keeping Up With the Kardashians," HBO's "Entourage," and AMC's "Breaking Bad."
During Sunday night's episode, the remaining five contenders were challenged to deepen their acting skills during �Believability' week. The contenders attempted to convey unattainable love during their group performance of Paramore's "The Only Exception." "Glee" guest mentor Jenna Ushkowitz ("Tina Cohen-Chang") coached the group on how to be real without overdoing the intensity. In the final moments of the episode, "Glee" hopeful Hannah McIalwain (20) of Charlotte, NC was eliminated.
