THE MTV "JERZDAY" PHENOMENON CONTINUES AS "JERSEY SHORE" LEADS THURSDAY NIGHT TELEVISION IN P12-34 VIEWERS FOR A THIRD CONSECUTIVE WEEK
NEW YORK, NY (August 19, 2011) - MTV continues to dominate Thursday nights as "Jersey Shore" was once again the leading program across all television among P12-34 for the third consecutive week, delivering a 7.3 P12-34 rating and 7.8 million total viewers - up 5% from last week. MTV is a division of Viacom Inc. (NYSE: VIA, VIA.B).
Highlights from the August 18 broadcast of "Jersey Shore" are:
· Last night's third episode of Season Four delivered 7.8 million total viewers, a 5% increase from the August 11 episode.
· Last night's episode earned a 7.30 P12-34 rating and 5.7 million viewers in P12-34, a 3% increase from the August 11 episode.
· Last night's episode is one of the 10 most-watched series telecasts in the network's history (behind six "Jersey Shore" Season Three telecasts and the Season Four premiere).
· "Jersey Shore" now holds the top 16 non-sports slots among all cable telecasts this year with P12-34.
An all-new episode of "Jersey Shore" airs next Thursday, August 25.
