"JERSEY SHORE" CONTINUES ITS DOMINATION As the SHOW Delivers one of MTV's best ratings ever
SANTA MONICA, CA (August 26, 2011) - MTV continues its winning streak, as "Jersey Shore" once again delivers one of MTV's best series telecast ratings ever. Last night's episode averaged a 8.1 P12-34 rating and 6.4 million P12-34 viewers, up 11% from last week. In addition, it delivered 8.47 million total viewers, and ranked #7 among all MTV series telecasts. MTV is a division of Viacom Inc. (NYSE: VIA, VIA.B).
An all-new episode of "Jersey Shore" will air on a special night and time, this Sunday, August 28 at 7:00 p.m. ET/PT, leading into the "2011 Video Music Awards" on MTV. The episode will mark a pivotal moment for Italy's most notorious American imports, as tensions between Mike and Ronnie come to a shocking head and threaten to disrupt the balance of the house. Viewers will finally gain clarity on what led up to Mike's highly speculated-about hospitalization during season four filming - and fans will be shocked by the truth.
This explosive episode will air again as a special encore presentation on the show's regular night and time, Thursday, September 1 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT. Also returning that night is the fan-favorite series after show, "Jersey Shore: After Hours," at 11:00 p.m. ET/PT. Hosted by Amy Paffrath, the special is the first of three all-new, half-hour shows that will gather the cast to discuss season four in all its dramatic and hilarious glory - with a few face-offs, reveals and never-before-seen clips along the way.
