ABC's "Nightline" Ranks No. 1 Across All Target Demos
For the 3rd Time This Season and for the 5th Consecutive Week, "Nightline" Improves on Year-Ago Week in Total Viewers
"Nightline" is Delivering Best Competitive Start to a Season in 16 Years
For the week of October 3, 2011, ABC's "Nightline" ranked No. 1 across all key target demos: Total Viewers (3.877 million), Adults 25-54 (1.567 million) and Adults 18-49 (1.187 million), according to Nielsen Media Research. The ABC latenight program saw week-to-week gains across all demos: Total Viewers (+1%), Adults 25-54 (+3%) and Adults 18-49 (+5%), hitting its largest overall audience in 6 weeks - since w/o 8/22/11.
For the 3rd time this season and for the 5th consecutive week, "Nightline" improved on the year-ago week in Total Viewers (+1% - 3.824 million on w/o 10/4/10).
Season to date, "Nightline" ranks No. 1 in late-night among Total Viewers, Adults 25-54 and Adults 18-49, ahead of both NBC's "The Tonight Show" and CBS' "The Late Show" ("Letterman" began on CBS in the 1993-94 season). This represents "Nightline's" best competitive start to a season in 16 years - since the 1995-96 season. Season to date, "Nightline" is up by +3% in Total Viewers compared to the same point last year, standing as the only program to grow year to year in Total Viewers versus "The Tonight Show" and "The Late Show."

During the week of October 3, 2011, ABC saw week-to-week increases in late-night in both Total Viewers (+1% - 2.277 million vs. 2.264 million) and Adults 18-49 (+3% - 803,000 vs. 781,000), standing as the only broadcast network in late-night to post weekly gains in both Nielsen measures (CBS was flat/down -1%, respectively; NBC was down -1%/-7%, respectively).
· ABC drew a larger overall audience than NBC in late-night for the 3rd straight week of the new season (+3% - 2.277 million vs. 2.205 million), while leading NBC in Adults 18-49 during the week by 6% (803,000 vs. 756,000).

During the week of October 3, 2011, ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live" grew its overall audience over the year-ago week (w/o 10/4/10) for the 3rd consecutive week of the new season (+2% - 1.676 million vs. 1.641 million).
· ABC's "JKL" (M-F 12:00 a.m.) led CBS' "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" (M-F 12:35 a.m.) for a 3rd straight win of the new season in both Total Viewers (+13% - 1.676 million vs. 1.478 million) and Adults 18-49 (+9% - 659,000 vs. 607,000).
· In addition, "JKL" ran in a near-tie with NBC's "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" (M-F 12:35 a.m.) in both Total Viewers (1.676 million vs. 1.688 million) and Adults 18-49 (659,000 vs. 676,000).
