UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - October 25, 2011 - Paced by "NBC Sunday Night Football," which despite a blowout of historic proportions was the #3 primetime program of the week on the broadcast networks in adults 18-49 and the #1 program in adults 18-34 and male demos, NBC averaged a 1.8 rating, 5 share in adults 18-49 and 5.3 million viewers overall for the week of October 17-23, according to in-home viewing figures from Nielsen Media Research. For the week, NBC ranked #2 among the broadcast networks in men 18-34 and #3 in men 18-49 and men 25-54.

This week's "NBC Sunday Night Football" telecast, in which the New Orleans Saints defeated the winless Indianapolis Colts 62-7, was the most lopsided result in the six-year history of "Sunday Night Football." Despite airing in head-to-head competition with Game 4 of the World Series, "Sunday Night Football" ranked #3 among all primetime programs this week on the broadcast networks in adults 18-49 (rankings exclude NFL pre- and post-game telecasts).

"Sunday Night Football" ranked #1 this week in adults 18-34 and all key adult-male demographics - men 18-34, men 18-49 and men 25-54 - topping all four World Series telecasts that aired this week in those demos.

Primetime averages for the week of October 17-23 in adults 18-49 were Fox (3.6/10), CBS (2.6/7), ABC (2.4/6), NBC (1.8/5) and CW (0.8/2). In overall total viewers the weekly averages were Fox (11.9 million), CBS (11.0 million), ABC (8.7 million), NBC (5.3 million) and CW (1.8 million).

NBC highlights for the week of October 17-23:

* On Sunday, NBC Sports' "Sunday Night Football" telecast of the New Orleans Saints' 62-7 drubbing of the Indianapolis Colts out-rated coverage of Game 4 of the World Series head to head, earning a 5.2 rating for the full duration of the NFL telecast versus a 4.2 for the World Series game.

* The lopsided Colts-Saints game led NBC to a #1 finish among the broadcast networks Sunday night in men 18-34 and a #2 ranking in most other key measures, including adults 18-49 and total viewers.

* On Wednesday, "Up All Night" was up 62 percent in 18-49 rating versus NBC's average in this time period last season. Versus NBC's performance in the slot on the same night last year, "Up All Night" was up 40 percent in adults 18-49. In total viewers, "Up All Night" grew 7 percent week to week to deliver its biggest overall audience since the show's September 21 time-period premiere.

* Through the first three weeks of the season, "Up All Night" has gained an average 46 percent in 18-49 rating in going from "live plus same day" to "live plus seven day," making it the #1 comedy and the #1 new series on ABC, CBS, NBC or Fox in terms of percentage increase from L+SD to L+7.

* Also on Wednesday, "Harry's Law" grew week to week by 8 percent in adults 18-49, earning its top 18-49 rating of the season, and 7 percent in total viewers. So far this season, "Harry's Law" has added an average 40 percent to its 18-49 rating when going from the previously reported "live plus same day" rating to its "live plus seven day" figure.

* Additionally on Wednesday, "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" grew week to week by 5 percent in adults 18-49 and 4 percent in total viewers. "SVU" built on its lead-in by 69 percent in 18-49 rating, while competing 10 p.m. ET dramas on ABC and CBS declined versus their lead-ins. "SVU" grew from its first half-hour to its second in virtually all key measures, while rival dramas on ABC and CBS declined in all key categories.

* Through the season's first three weeks, "Law & Order: SVU" has added an average 44 percent to its 18-49 rating in going from "live plus same day" to "live plus seven day."

* On Tuesday, "Parenthood" finished within one share of the time-period lead among the broadcast networks in adults 18-49 and was #1 in adults and women 18-34. Versus the same night last year, "Parenthood" was up 5 percent in adults 18-49. Through the first three weeks of the season, "Parenthood" has added an average 41 percent to its 18-49 rating in going from "live plus same day" to live plus seven day."

* Also on Tuesday, "The Biggest Loser" gained 18 percent in adults 18-49 and 23 percent in women 18-49 from its first half-hour to its fourth, despite competition in the time period that included Fox's "X Factor" special, ABC's second week of "Last Man Standing," premiere of "Man Up" and "Dancing With the Stars" and CBS's "NCIS" and "NCIS: Los Angeles."

* On Monday, "The Sing Off" grew week to week by 7 percent in adults 18-49.

Ratings reflect "live plus same day" data unless otherwise noted. Season-to-date figures are averages of "live plus seven day" data except for the two most recent weeks, which are "live plus same day."

On Monday, October 17 from 8-10 p.m. ET, "The Sing-Off" (1.6 rating, 4 share in 18-49, 4.3 million viewers overall) increased week to week by 7 percent in 18-49 rating (1.6 vs. 1.5) in a highly competitive time period that included CBS's "Two and a Half Men," "How I Met Your Mother," "2 Broke Girls" and "Mike and Molly," ABC's "Dancing With the Stars" and Fox's "Terra Nova" and "House." So far this season, "The Sing Off" has added an average 18 percent to its 18-49 rating when going from the previously reported "live plus same day" rating to its "live plus seven day" figure.

Monday at 10 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "Prime Suspect" averaged a 0.8/2 in adults 18-49 and 2.7 million viewers overall. Versus its rebroadcast in this time period last week, "Prime Suspect" was up 14 percent in 18-49 rating (0.8 vs. 0.7).

On Tuesday, October 18 from 8-10 p.m. ET, "The Biggest Loser" averaged a 1.9/5 in adults 18-49 and 5.2 million viewers overall in a fiercely competitive two-hour time period that included Fox's "X Factor" special, ABC's second week of "Last Man Standing," premiere of "Man Up" and "Dancing With the Stars" and CBS's "NCIS" and "NCIS: Los Angeles." From its first half-hour to its fourth, "Biggest Loser" gained 18 percent in adults 18-49 (to a 2.0 rating from a 1.7) and 23 percent in women 18-49 (to a 2.7 from a 2.2).

Tuesday at 10 p.m. ET, "Parenthood" (2.0/5 in 18-49, 5.3 million viewers overall) finished within one share of the time-period lead among the broadcast networks in adults 18-49 and was #1 in adults and women 18-34. Versus the same night last year, "Parenthood" was up 5 percent in 18-49 rating (2.0 vs. 1.9) and 3 percent in total viewers (5.035 million vs. 4.872 million).

It is worth noting that so far this season, "Parenthood" has added an average 41 percent to its 18-49 rating when going from the previously reported "live plus same day" rating to its "live plus seven day" figure during premiere week (to a 2.99 rating from a 2.12).

On Wednesday, October 19 at 8 p.m. ET, "Up All Night" (2.1/6 in 18-49, 5.6 million viewers overall) was up 62 percent in adults 18-49 versus NBC's 1.3 average in this time period last season ("live plus same day," non-sports), despite intense slot competition that included Fox's World Series, CBS's "Survivor" and ABC's "The Middle." Versus NBC's results in this half-hour on the same night last year, "Up All Night" was up 40 percent (2.1 vs. 1.5).

So far this season, "Up All Night" has added an average 46 percent in 18-49 rating when going from the previously reported "live plus same day" to its "live plus seven day" results (to a 3.33 rating from a 2.28), making it the #1 comedy and the #1 new series on ABC, CBS, NBC or Fox in terms of percentage increase from L+SD to L+7.

"Up All Night" matched its prior week's 2.1 rating in adults 18-49 and was up week to week by 7 percent in total viewers (5.628 million vs. 5.238 million), marking the top "Up All Night" total-viewer result in four weeks (since the show's September 21 time-period premiere).

At 8:30 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "Whitney" averaged a 1.2/3 in 18-49 and 4.1 million viewers overall. "Whitney" set a new season high for NBC in this time period in total viewers against strong time-period competition that included Fox's World Series, the second half-hour of CBS's "Survivor" and ABC's "Suburgatory." "Whitney" was up 2 percent in total viewers versus last week's encore telecast (4.058 million vs. 3.969 million). The "Whitney" rebroadcast was up 9 percent in 18-49 rating versus NBC's 1.1 average in this time period prior to "Whitney's" first Wednesday telecast on October 12 and up 19 percent in total viewers (4.058 million vs. 3.400 million).

Wednesday at 9 p.m. ET, "Harry's Law" (1.3/3 in adults 18-49, 8.4 million viewers overall) grew week to week by 8 percent in adults 18-49 (to a 1.3 rating from a 1.2) to earn its top 18-49 rating so far this season. In total viewers, "Harry's Law" grew week to week by 7 percent (8.388 million vs. 7.837 million) to deliver its second biggest overall viewership of the season to date. In total viewers, "Harry's Law" so far this fall has delivered NBC's five biggest audiences in the time period on an in-season Wednesday since February 2. Versus NBC's total-viewer average in this slot last season, "Harry's Law" this week was up 46 percent (8.388 million vs. 5.752 million, "live plus same day," non-sports).

So far this season, "Harry's Law" has added an average 40 percent to its 18-49 rating when going from the previously reported "live plus same day" rating to its "live plus seven day" figure (to a 1.70 rating from a 1.21).

Wednesday at 10 p.m. ET, "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (2.2/6 in adults 18-49, 7.7 million viewers overal1) built on its lead-in by 69 percent in 18-49 rating, while competing 10 p.m. dramas on ABC and CBS were down versus their lead-ins. "SVU" also grew from its first half-hour to its second in virtually all key categories, including gains of 5 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 2.2 from a 2.1) and 4 percent in total viewers (7.8 million vs. 7.5 million), while rival dramas on ABC and CBS declined half-hour to half-hour in all key categories.

Week to week, "SVU" grew by 5 percent in adults 18-49 (to a 2.2 rating from a 2.1) and 4 percent in total viewers (7.655 million vs. 7.337 million).

So far this season, "Law & Order: SVU" has added an average 44 percent to its 18-49 rating when going from the previously reported "live plus same day" rating to its "live plus seven day" figure (to a 3.16 rating from a 2.19).

On Thursday, October 20 at 8 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "Community" delivered a 0.9/3 in 18-49 and 2.4 million viewers overall. At 8:30 p.m., a rebroadcast of "Parks and Recreation" averaged a 1.1/3 in 18-49 and 2.5 million viewers overall, building on its lead-in by 22 percent in 18-49 rating.

Thursday from 9-9:31 p.m. ET, a rebroadcast of "The Office" (1.5/4 in 18-49, 3.3 million viewers overall) built on its lead-in by 36 percent in 18-49 rating and 33 percent in total viewers. "The Office" encore ranked #2 in men 18-34 in a highly competitive time period, trailing only Fox's World Series coverage and ahead of first-run episodes of ABC's "Grey's Anatomy" and CBS's "Person of Interest."

Thursday from 9:31-10 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "Whitney" delivered a 1.1/3 in adults 18-49 and 2.8 million viewers overall. At 10 p.m., a rebroadcast of "Prime Suspect" averaged a 0.8/2 and 2.8 million viewers overall.

On Friday, October 21 at 8 p.m. ET, a rebroadcast of "The Office" averaged a 0.6/2 in 18-49 and 2.0 million viewers overall. At 8:30 p.m., an encore telecast of "Parks and Recreation" delivered a 0.6/2 and 1.6 million viewers overall, up 20 percent in 18-49 rating (0.6 vs. 0.5) and 15 percent in total viewers (1.646 million vs. 1.435 million) versus the prior week's rebroadcast in this time period.

Friday from 9-11 p.m. ET, "Dateline NBC" averaged a 1.0/3 in 18-49 and 4.1 million viewers overall.

On Saturday, Oct. 22, NBC Sports' coverage of USC-Notre Dame football from Notre Dame Stadium averaged a 0.9/3 in adults 18-49, 3.2 million viewers overall and a 2.1/4 household rating/share for its full duration from 7:43-11:03 p.m. ET.

On Sunday, October 23 on "NBC Sunday Night Football," the New Orleans Saints defeated the Indianapolis Colts 62-7 in the most lopsided game in the six-year history of "Sunday Night Football." Airing opposite Game 4 of the World Series, Sunday's Colts-Saints game averaged a 5.2/13 in adults 18-49, 12.5 million viewers overall and a 7.6/12 household rating/share from 8:31-11:13 p.m. ET. NBC ranked #1 in primetime Sunday night in men 18-34 and #2 in most other key measures, including adults 18-49, adults 18-34, adults 25-54 and total viewers.

In head-to-head competition, Sunday's lopsided Saints-Colts game topped Game 4 of the World Series by 24 percent in adults 18-49 (with a 5.2 for "Sunday Night Football" from 8:31-11:13 p.m. ET vs. a 4.2 for the World Series Game 4 from 8:02-11:14 p.m. ET).

Also on Sunday, "Football Night in America 2" from 7:30-7:57 p.m. ET averaged a 1.9/6 in 18-49, 4.9 million viewers overall and a 3.1/5 household rating/share. "Football Night in America 3" from 7:57-8:22 p.m. delivered a 3.3/9 in 18-49, 8.8 million viewers overall and a 5.6/9 in households. From 8:22-8:31 p.m., "NBC Sunday Night Football Pre Kickoff" averaged a 4.1/11 in 18-49, 11.0 million viewers overall and a 6.8/11 in households.
