ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live" Delivers its Best Repeat-Week Numbers in Nearly 4 Years
Some early points on Jimmy Kimmel Live's weekly numbers, ahead of the regular press release:
During the week of October 17, 2011, ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live's week of repeats soared over its most-recent repeat-week performance (w/o 8/29/11) by 31% in Total Viewers to draw its largest repeat audience in nearly 4 years - since w/o 12/3/07. JKL also grew over its prior week of repeats by 31% in Adults 18-49, delivering its best young adult performance during a repeat-week since June 2010 - since w/o 6/7/10. In fact, excluding the NBA Finals-led weeks in June, JKL tied its highest young adult number since December 2007 - since w/o 12/17/07. In addition, JKL was up over the year-ago repeat-week (w/o 10/4/10) by 8% in Total Viewers and by 3% in Adults 18-49.
· During the week, ABC's JKL stood as the #3 late-night talk show in Total Viewers, behind only NBC's The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and CBS' Late Show with David Letterman.
· ABC's JKL (M-F 12am) led NBC's Late Night with Jimmy Fallon (M-F 12:35am) by double-digit margins in both Total Viewers (+19%) and Adults 18-49 (+20%), marking the ABC late-night program's 2nd consecutive win in Total Viewers over the NBC program. JKL topped Fallon in 4 of the 5 days of the week in viewers (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday) and in all 5 nights of the week in young adults.
· ABC's JKL's week of repeats outperformed CBS' The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson's (M-F 12:35am) week of originals by an impressive 21% in Total Viewers and by 14% in Adults 18-49, leading the CBS late-night program in all 5 weeks of the new season to date in both viewers and young adults. Repeats of JKL led originals of Ferguson every night of the week on both Nielsen measures.

For the week of October 17, 2011, ABC's "Nightline" ranked No. 1 in latenight for the 3rd week running in all key target demos: Total Viewers (4.093 million), Adults 25-54 (1.664 million) and Adults 18-49 (1.309 million), according to Nielsen Media Research. The ABC latenight program has taken the top spot in Total Viewers and Adults 25-54 in all 5 weeks of the new season.
Building week to week in Total Viewers (+7%) Adults 25-54 (+11%) and Adults 18-49 (+13%) to hit season highs, "Nightline" turned in its strongest performance across all 3 demos in 8 weeks - since w/o 8/22/11.
"Nightline" posted across-the-board increases over the year-ago week: Total Viewers (+9%), Adults 25-54 (+7%) and Adults 18-49 (+9%).
Season to date for the 2nd straight year, "Nightline" ranks No. 1 in late-night among Total Viewers, Adults 25-54 and Adults 18-49, ahead of both NBC's "The Tonight Show" and CBS' "The Late Show" ("Letterman" began on CBS in the 1993-94 season). Season to date, "Nightline" is up by +3% in Total Viewers compared to the same point last year, standing as the only program to grow year to year in Total Viewers versus "The Tonight Show" and "The Late Show."
