FOX (9.91 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 3.4, #1) was Wednesday's top draw thanks to a new "The X Factor" (10.93 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 3.7, #1) plus the premiere of "I Hate My Teenage Daughter" (6.84 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 2.8, #3).
CBS (8.03 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 2.4, #2) then claimed the silver with its mix of "Survivor: South Pacific" (10.92 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 3.1, #2), a repeat of "Criminal Minds" (7.55 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 2.1, #T6) and its annual special "The Grammy Nominations Concert Live! - Countdown to Music's Biggest Night" (5.62 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 1.9, #8).
Next up was NBC (9.72 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.8, #T3) with its annual "Christmas in Rockefeller Center" (9.42 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.8, #T9) special followed by new episodes of "Harry's Law" (9.91 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.4, #12) - a season high - and "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (9.83 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 2.2, #5).
Meanwhile, ABC (5.23 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.8, #T3) fell to fourth place with an all-repeat lineup of "The Middle" (6.00 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.8, #T9), "Suburgatory" (5.26 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 1.7, #11), "Modern Family" (7.16 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 2.6, #4), "Happy Endings" (4.96 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 2.1, #T6) and "Revenge" (4.01 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 1.2, #13).
And finally, the special "A Muppets Christmas: Letters to Santa" (2.40 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T14) led into a new "America's Next Top Model" (1.93 million viewers, #15; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T14) on The CW (2.16 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.8, #5). In the netlet's target demo (women 18-34), "Muppets" delivered a 1.1 rating while "Top Model" posted a 1.1 rating.

In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," 3.5/9; CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman," 2.1/5 with an encore; and ABC's combo of "Nightline," 3.0/7; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 1.3/4.
In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," 1.1/5; "Late Show," 0.8/5 with an encore; "Nightline," 1.0/4; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.5/3.
At 12:35 a.m., "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" (1.8/6 in metered-market households) beat CBS's "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" (1.2/4). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.6/4 in 18-49) topped "Late Late Show" (0.5/3).
At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 1.1/5 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.5/4 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.
