truTV's Hit Series "Hardcore Pawn" Sets Network Record with 2.7 Million Viewers
truTV's hit show Hardcore Pawn has done it again, drawing an extraordinary 2.7 million viewers last night, making it truTV's most-watched series telecast ever. This is the latest triumph for truTV, which is on the verge of closing out its biggest year ever among young adult and male viewers.
Hardcore Pawn not only set a new viewership record for truTV but also performed exceptionally well on the competitive front. Last night's episode delivered more adults 18-49 (1,355,000) than competing networks Discovery and History combined. Compared to all ad-supported cable programming in the 9 p.m. timeslot, Hardcore Pawn ranked a strong second place among adults 18-49 (1,355,000) and men 18-49 (796,000). It also ranked in third place for the timeslot among total viewers (2,704,000); adults 18-34 (635,000); and men 18-34 (256,000).
Last night's episode of Hardcore Pawn, which is in the midst of its fifth season, delivered 31% more viewers than the show's fourth-season average. The episode bested its own Oct. 4 fourth-season finale, which held the previous truTV record of 2.5 million viewers.
Hardcore Pawn's record-breaking telecast was followed last night by a new episode of truTV's Storage Hunters, which drew 2.1 million viewers, the most ever for the freshman series.
Continuing its unprecedented momentum, truTV will finish 2011 with the best primetime deliveries of adults 18-34, men 18-34 and men 18-49 in the network's entire history. Propelled by original hits like Hardcore Pawn, Operation Repo, All Worked Up, Lizard Lick Towing, South Beach Tow and Full Throttle Saloon, as well as the acquired hit Wipeout, truTV will also score its youngest annual median age (43).
