LIFETIME POSTS MAJOR GROWTH AMONG KEY DEMOS IN FIRST QUARTER 2012 VERSUS 2011
Quarter Marks Strongest Year-on-Year Growth for Network in Nearly Seven Years Among Adults 25-54, Women 25-54 and Women 18-49
LOS ANGELES, CA (March 27, 2012) - As a result of its diversified programming strategy spanning original movies, scripted series and reality, Lifetime has posted major growth in viewership among the key demographics in First Quarter 2012 versus First Quarter 2011, including a 9% jump in Adults 25-54, +12% with Women 25-54, +14% with Adults 18-49 and +18% with Women 18-49.
In addition, the quarter marks the first time Lifetime has posted First Quarter year-on-year growth for Adults 25- 54, Women 25-54 and Women 18-49 in seven years (since 1Q'05).
"We are very pleased viewers are responding to our commitment to deliver more original movies and series in primetime this quarter. We are moving in the right direction and hope to build on this momentum as we launch even more original programming this spring," said Nancy Dubuc, President and General Manager of Lifetime Networks.
Lifetime was the quarter's #1 basic cable network for movies among Women 25-54 and Women 18+ across total day and the debut of Drew Peterson: Untouchable, starring Rob Lowe, was the #1 movie telecast across basic cable among Total Viewers, Adults 18+, Women 18+, Adults 25-54, Women 25-54, Adults 18-49 and Women 18-49. The network's unscripted series Project Runway All Stars ranks as the #1 original cable program with Women 25-54 in the Thursday 9-10pm time period, while the season six premiere of Army Wives propelled Lifetime to be the #1 cable network from 9-11pm for the night among Women. Additionally, America's Most Wanted has improved the Friday 9-10pm time period +65% with Adults 25-54 and +38% with Women 25-54.
