UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - April 17, 2012 - With the Monday and Tuesday editions of "The Voice" both ranking among the week's top six primetime telecasts in adults 18-49 and adults 18-34, NBC has generated an average 1.7 rating, 5 share in adults 18-49 and 5.3 million viewers overall for the week of April 9-15, according to in-home viewing figures from Nielsen Media Research.

NBC's 1.7 for the week is up 6 percent versus the same week last year and is the network's top weekly average in five weeks (since March 5-11). This is the 11th time in 12 weeks NBC has topped its 18-49 rating for the same week last year.

Monday's "The Voice" ranked #4 for the week among all primetime shows on ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in adults 18-49, marking the 11th week in a row "The Voice" has in the top four among primetime series on ABC, CBS, NBC or Fox. Tuesday's "The Voice" Results Show tied for #6 for the week in 18-49.

In the valuable adult 18-34 demo, Monday's "The Voice" tied for #3, Tuesday's "The Voice" tied for #6, "The Office" tied for #10, "Community" tied for #23 and "Smash" and "Up All Night" tied for #27.

Primetime averages for the week of April 9-15 in adults 18-49 were Fox (2.4/7), CBS (2.1/6), ABC (1.8/5), NBC (1.7/5) and CW (0.4/1). In overall total viewers the weekly averages were CBS (9.2 million), Fox (7.5 million), ABC (7.3 million), NBC (5.3 million) and CW (1.0 million).

Versus the same week last year, NBC was up 6 percent in 18-49 rating (with a 1.7 vs. a 1.6) and in total viewers, NBC was up 3 percent (5.3 million vs. 5.2 million), making it the only network among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox to improve on its year-ago total-viewer average for the week.

NBC highlights for the week of April 9-15

* On Monday, "The Voice" was the #1 telecast of the night in adults 18-48, 18-34 and 25-54 over CBS's comedy lineup and ABC's "Dancing With the Stars." "The Voice" was up 122 percent versus NBC's time-period average prior to "The Voice" and up 88 percent in total viewers.

* Also on Monday, "Smash" beat NBC's time-period average for the season prior to "Smash" by 100 percent in 18-49 and 55 percent in total viewers.

* NBC led Monday in adults 18-49 for the eighth time in 10 weeks and the eight time in the last eight weeks with no major sports competition.

* On Tuesday, NBC tied for the nightlong win in 18-49 with week-to-week gains for each NBC series.

* Tuesday's "The Biggest Loser" weighed in with NBC's top 18-49 rating in that hour since February 21 and biggest overall audience since December 6, 2011.

* Tuesday's "The Voice" Results Show grew 9 percent in its second week to deliver the #1 rating of the night ahead of such competition as "NCIS," the "Dancing With the Stars" Results Show," "Glee" and "The New Girl." "The Voice" generated 18-49 and total-viewer season highs for NBC in the time period.

* The "Voice" Results Show equaled the highest 18-49 rating for any Tuesday telecast on ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox or CW in the last six weeks.

* Also on Tuesday, "Fashion Star" matched its series-high rating in adults 18-49 with a 20 percent week-to-week increase.

* On Wednesday, "Off Their Rockers" has in its first two weeks on the schedule delivered NBC's two biggest overall audiences in the time period since November.

* "Law & Order: SVU" returned to NBC's Wednesday lineup with an eight-week slot high for the network in 18-49 and a seven-week high in total viewers.

* On Thursday, "The Office" won the 9 p.m. ET half-hour in the valuable adult 18-34 demographic and week-to-week gains in adults 18-49 were delivered by "Community," "30 Rock" and "Up All Night."

* On Friday, "Grimm" led its hour among ABC, CBS NBC and Fox in adults 18-49 and matched its highest rating since January 20.

* On Sunday, "Dateline NBC" reported its highest 18-49 rating for a Sunday telecast since February 12.

* Sunday's "Harry's Law" ranked #2 in its time period in total viewers with its biggest overall audience since March 11.

* Also on Sunday, "The Celebrity Apprentice" cashed in a six-week high in 18-49 rating and led its second hour from 10-11 p.m. ET by a 53 percent margin over CBS's debut of "NYC 22" and ABC's "GCB."

Ratings reflect "live plus same day" data unless otherwise noted. Season-to-date figures are averages of "live plus seven day" data except for the two most recent weeks, which are "live plus same day."

On Monday, April 9 from 8-10 p.m. ET, "The Voice" (4.0 rating, 11 share in adults 18-49, 10.5 million viewers overall) is the #1 telecast of the night in adults 18-49, adults 18-34 and adults 25-54 on ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox or CW. Head to head, "The Voice" outscored ABC's "Dancing With the Stars" by a 33 percent margin in 18-49 rating (4.0 vs. 3.0) and topped CBS's 8-10 p.m. comedy lineup by an 18 percent advantage (4.0 vs. 3.4 from 8-10 p.m.). From its first half-hour to its fourth, "The Voice" grew by 17 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 4.2 from a 3.6), easily the most growth over that span for ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox or CW.

"The Voice" has now generated NBC's 10 highest non-Olympic 18-49 ratings in this slot in more than four years (since February 18, 2008). Versus NBC's averages in the time period this season prior to "The Voice," this week's telecast is up 122 percent in 18-49 rating (with a 4.0 vs. a 1.8) and up 88 percent in total viewers (10.5 million vs. 5.6 million).

Monday at 10 p.m. ET, "Smash" (2.0/5 in 18-49, 6.0 million viewers overall) ranked #2 in the time period among ABC, CBS and NBC in adults 18-49 and finished #1 in adults 18-34. "Smash" has now delivered NBC's 10 highest 18-49 in-season ratings in this time period since January 31, 2011. This week's "Smash" beat NBC's time-period average this season prior to "Smash" by 100 percent in 18-49 rating (with a 2.0 vs. a 1.0) and by 55 percent in total viewers (5.991 million vs. 3.864 million).

"The Voice" and "Smash" led NBC to the nightlong ratings win in adults 18-49 and other key demographics. NBC has now won eight of the last 10 Mondays in 18-49, and every Monday that hasn't featured major sports competition, after having not won an in-season Monday with regularly scheduled programming in four years

On Tuesday, April 10, from 8-9 p.m. ET, "The Biggest Loser 13" (2.1/6 in 18-49, 6.5 million viewers overall) grew week to week by 5 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 2.1 from a 2.0) and by 2 percent in total viewers (6.5 million vs. 6.4 million). These are the top "Biggest Loser" results in 18-49 and total viewers in three weeks (since March 20). With a telecast featuring First Lady Michelle Obama, this week's "Biggest Loser" also generated NBC's highest 18-49 rating in the Tuesday 8-9 p.m. hour since February 21 and generated the network's biggest overall audience in the slot since December 6, 2011. "The Biggest Loser" grew solidly from its first half-hour to its second in every key category, including gains of 20 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 2.4 from a 2.0) and 15 percent in total viewers (7.2 million vs. 6.2 million).

Tuesday from 9-10 p.m. ET, "The Voice" Results Show (3.5/9 in 18-49, 9.0 million viewers overall) ranked as the #1 telecast of the night in adults 18-49 versus all-original, all-regular programming on ABC, CBS and Fox. "The Voice" delivered week-to-week increases versus the prior week's Tuesday premiere of 9 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 3.5 from a 3.2) and 6 percent in total viewers (9.0 million vs. 8.5 million). "The Voice" won the hour in 18-49 by a 46 percent margin (with a 3.5 rating vs. a 2.4 for CBS's "NCIS: LA,") and led the time period among adults 18-34, adults 25-54 and other key demos.

"The Voice" set season highs for NBC in the time slot, while improving on the network's season averages in this hour by 52 percent in 18-49 rating (with a 3.5 vs. a 2.3, "live plus same day") and by 42 percent or 2.7 million persons in total viewers (9.0 million vs. 6.3 million). The 3.5 in 18-49 matches the highest rating for any Tuesday telecast on ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox or CW in six weeks (since February 28).

Tuesday from 10-11 p.m. ET, "Fashion Star" (1.8/5 in 18-49, 4.7 million viewers overall) jumped week to week by 20 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 1.8 from a 1.5) and 13 percent in total viewers (4.7 million vs. 4.1 million) to equal its series high in 18-49 rating. "Fashion Star" tied NBC's highest 18-49 rating in this time period since February 28. "Fashion Star" tied for #2 in the hour among ABC, CBS and NBC in adults 18-49, within 0.1 of a rating point of first place, and ranked #1 among those networks in adults 18-34.

NBC tied Fox for the nightlong win Tuesday in adults 18-49 (with a 2.5 rating each).

On Wednesday, April 11 from 8-8:30 p.m. ET, "Betty White's Off Their Rockers" captured a 1.6/5 in 18-49 and 6.1 million viewers overall and in its first two weeks has delivered NBC's two biggest overall audiences in the Wednesday 8-8:30 time period since November 30, 2011. Both weeks of "Off Their Rockers" also matched or topped NBC's best 18-49 ratings in the slot prior to "Rockers" since February 15. In an intensely competitive time period opposite Fox's "American Idol," CBS's "Survivor: One World" and ABC's "The Middle," "Off Their Rockers" improved on NBC's time-period average this season by 26 percent or 1.3 million persons in total viewers (6.1 million vs. 4.8 million).

Wednesday at 8:30 ET, "Best Friends Forever" averaged a 0.9/2 in 18-49 and 2.8 million viewers overall in a highly competitive time period opposite Fox's "American Idol," CBS's "Survivor" and ABC's "Suburgatory."

Wednesday at 9 p.m. ET, "Rock Center with Brian Williams" delivered a 0.5/1 in 18-49 and 2.6 million viewers overall. "Rock Center" grew from its first half-hour to its second in all key categories, including gains of 20 percent in adults 18-49 (to a 0.6 rating from a 0.5) and 33 percent in adults 25-54 (0.8 vs. 0.6).

Wednesday at 10 p.m. ET, "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (1.7/4 in 18-49, 5.6 million viewers overall) topped its results for the show's most recent telecast in this slot on February 29 (1.7 vs. 1.6 in 18-49, up 6 percent; 5.6 million in total viewers last night vs. 5.4 million, up 3 percent), despite the six-week break. This week's "SVU" grew from its first half-hour to its second in nearly all key ratings categories, including gains of 6 percent in adults 18-49 (to a 1.7 rating from a 1.6), 10 percent in adults 25-54 (2.2 vs. 2.0) and 8 percent in total viewers (5.8 million vs. 5.4 million), while competing dramas on ABC and CBS were declining in each of those three categories. "SVU" built on its lead-in by 240 percent in 18-49 rating and 113 percent in total viewers. "Law & Order: SVU" scored NBC's top results in the time period in 18-49 rating in eight weeks (since February 15) and biggest overall audience in the slot in seven weeks (since February 22).

On Thursday, April 12 at 8 p.m. ET, "Community" (1.4/4 in 18-49, 3.1 million viewers overall) grew week to week by 3 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 1.4 from a 1.3) and 6 percent in total viewers (3.091 million vs. 3.000 million) in a highly competitive time period versus Fox's "American Idol," ABC's "Missing" and CBS's "Big Bang Theory" encore. In the time period, "Community" is #2 among ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and CW in men 18-34.

Thursday at 8:30 ET, "30 Rock" (1.4/4 in 18-49, 3.0 million viewers overall) grew week to week by 17 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 1.4 from a 1.2) and 7 percent in total viewers (2.984 million vs. 2.786 million). In a competitive time period versus Fox's "American Idol," CBS's "Rules of Engagement" and ABC's "Missing," "30 Rock" ranked #2 in the half-hour among ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and CW in men 18-34.

Thursday from 9-9:31 p.m. ET, "The Office" delivered a 2.2/5 in 18-49 and 4.4 million viewers overall against the special competition of CBS's "Big Bang Theory" encore, plus ABC's "Grey's Anatomy" and Fox's "Touch." In the time period, "The Office" ranked #1 among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in adults 18-34 and men 18-34.

Thursday at 9:31 ET, "Up All Night" averaged a 1.5/4 in 18-49 and 3.1 million viewers overall against the special competition of CBS's "2 Broke Girls" rebroadcast, plus the concluding half-hours of ABC's "Grey's Anatomy" and Fox's "Touch." "Up All Night" grew week to week by 25 percent in 18-49 (to a 1.5 from a 1.2) and 21 percent in total viewers (3.121 million vs. 2.578 million). Note that the prior week's telecast followed an "Office" encore. In the time period, this week's "Up All Night" is #2 among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in adults 18-34 and #1 in men 18-34.

Thursday at 10 p.m. ET, "Awake" averaged a 0.9/2 in 18-49 and 2.7 million viewers overall. "Awake" matched its 18-49 rating of the prior week and generated an increase of 5 percent in total viewers (2.677 million vs. 2.558 million). Note that "Awake" is one of the most time-shifted shows on television, with the "live plus same day" rating for its first four telecasts growing by 59 percent when Nielsen issues "live plus seven day" ratings.

Friday, April 13 at 8 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "Who Do You Think You Are?" (0.9/3 in 18-49, 4.8 million viewers overall) grew week to week versus the prior week's original by 13 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 0.9 from a 0.8) and by 3percent in total viewers (4.784 million vs. 4.638 million). "Who Do You Think You Are?" earned a three-week high in adults 18-49 despite the rebroadcast.

Friday at 9 p.m. ET, "Grimm" (1.6/5 in 18-49, 5.0 million viewers overall) ranked #1 in the time period in adults 18-49 among ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and CW, and also ranked #1 or tied for #1 in men 18-34, men and women 18-49 and adults, men and women 25-54. "Grimm" built on its lead-in by 78 percent in 18-49 rating. "Grimm" grew week to week by 23 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 1.6 from a 1.3) and in total viewers by 11 percent (4.962 million vs. 4.454 million). "Grimm" delivered its top 18-49 rating since March 2 and equaled its highest since January 20. In total viewers, it was "Grimm's" highest since March 9.

Friday at 10 p.m. ET, "Dateline NBC" (1.0/3 in 18-49, 4.7 million viewers overall) grew week to week by 15 percent in total viewers (4.719 million vs. 4.091 million) to make it the top Friday "Dateline" in total viewers in five weeks (since March 9). From its first half-hour to its second, "Dateline" grew by 10 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 1.1 from a 1.0) and 13 percent in total viewers (5.0 million vs. 4.4 million).

On Saturday, April 14 at 8 p.m. ET, "Escape Routes" averaged a 0.2/1 in 18-49 and 1.0 million viewers overall. At 9 p.m., "The Firm" delivered a 0.3/1 in 18-49 and 1.9 million viewers overall. At 10 p.m., an encore of "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" captured a 0.7/2 in 18-49 and 3.5 million viewers overall.

On Sunday, April 15 from 7-8 p.m. ET, "Dateline NBC" (1.3/4 in 18-49, 4.8 million viewers overall) reported a week-to-week gain of 30 percent in adults 18-49 (to a 1.3 from a 1.0) to deliver its highest rating since February 12. That pulled "Dateline within 0.3 of a point of the time-period lead among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in adults 18-49. In the hour, "Dateline" tied for #1 among those networks in women 18-34.

Sunday from 8-9 p.m. ET, "Harry's Law" (0.9/3 in 18-49, 8.3 million viewers overall) generated its biggest overall audience since March 11. From its first half-hour to its second, "Harry's Law" grew by 11 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 1.0 from a 0.9) and 9 percent in total viewers (8.6 million vs. 7.9 million). Versus NBC's non-sports average in the time period last season, "Harry's Law" is up 74 percent in total viewers (8.266 million vs. 4.756 million). "Harry's Law" is #2 in the hour in total viewers.

Sunday from 9-11 p.m. ET, "The Celebrity Apprentice" (2.2/6 in 18-49, 6.7 million viewers overall) fired off its highest 18-49 and total-viewer results in six weeks (since March 4). "Apprentice" built on NBC's results in the prior hour from 8-9 p.m. by 144 percent in 18-49 rating. From its first half-hour to its fourth, "Celebrity Apprentice" grew by 26 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 2.4 from a 1.9), with growth throughout the two-hour time period. The half-hour track was: 1.9, 2.1, 2.2, 2.4.

For its second hour from 10-11 p.m. ET, "The Celebrity Apprentice" ranked #1 among ABC, CBS and NBC in all key demographics - adults, men and women 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54. "Apprentice" won the 10 p.m. hour by a 53 percent margin in 18-49 rating (2.3 vs. 1.5 each for the CBS's debut of "NYC 22" and ABC's "GCB").
