Monday Results:
· From 8-9 p.m. ET, "America's Got Talent" (3.2 rating, 10 share in adults 18-49, 12.1 million viewers overall) delivered the #1 rating of the night on ABC, CBS, NBC or Fox in adults 18-49, total viewers and other key measures on a night that included ABC's "Bachelorette" (2.1/6 in 18-49) and Fox's season debuts of "Hell's Kitchen" (2.4/7) and "MasterChef" (2.3/6). "Talent" won its time period among those networks in 18-49, total viewers and most other key categories. Week to week, "Talent" is up in this slot by 14 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 3.2 from a 2.8) and 21 percent or 2.1 million persons in total viewers (12.056 million vs. 9.957 million), despite the debut of "Hell's Kitchen" in the hour this week. Versus NBC's average in this time period last summer, "America's Got Talent" is up 191 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 3.2 from a 1.1) and up 150 percent in total viewers (12.056 million vs. 4.832 million). From its first half-hour to its second, this week's "Talent" grew by 10 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 3.3 from a 3.0) and 12 percent or 1.4 million persons in total viewers (12.8 million vs. 11.4 million).
· This week's 12.1 million viewer total for "America's Got Talent" is the highest for any primetime telecast on ABC, CBS, NBC or Fox since Fox's "American Idol" season finale May 23.
· From 9-10 p.m. ET, "American Ninja Warrior" (2.2/6 in 18-49, 5.7 million viewers overall) grew week to week by 5 percent in 18-49 rating despite the debut of Fox's "MasterChef" in the hour this week. In the time period, "American Ninja Warrior" tied for #2 among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in adults 18-49, and finished within 0.1 of a rating point of #1.
· Versus NBC's average in this time period last summer, "American Ninja Warrior" is up 100 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 2.2 from a 1.1) and up 44 percent in total viewers (6.653 million vs. 4.618 million). Versus NBC's special telecast of "American Ninja Warrior" last summer, this week's telecast is up 29 percent in 18-49 rating (with a 2.2 vs. a 1.7 from 9-11 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 22, 2011) and up 62 percent in total viewers (6.653 million vs. 4.103 million).
· At 10 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "Grimm" (1.0/3 in 18-49, 3.2 million viewers overall) is up week to week in this slot by 25 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 1.0 from a 0.8) and up 22 percent in total viewers (3.153 million vs. 2.580 million). In the time period, "Grimm" is #2 among ABC, CBS and NBC in 18-49 ahead of ABC's "Castle" rebroadcast and within 0.2 of a rating point of CBS's "Hawaii Five-0" encore.
In Late-Night Metered Markets Monday night:
· In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," 2.4/6; CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman," 2.0/5; and ABC's combo of "Nightline," 2.8/6; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 1.4/4.
· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," 0.7/3; "Late Show," 0.5/2; "Nightline," 0.9/4; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.5/3.
· At 12:35 a.m., "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" (1.3/4 in metered-market households) beat CBS's "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" (1.0/3 with an encore). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.5/3 in 18-49 with an encore) topped "Late Late Show" (0.3/2 with an encore).
· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.8/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.2/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.
For the Week:
· With Monday and Tuesday editions of "America's Got Talent" ranking #1 and 2 for the week among all primetime telecasts on ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox, NBC's primetime lineup has finished #1 for the week of May 28-June 3 in adults 18-49. Also boosting the week for NBC were Monday's "American Ninja Warrior," which tied for #5 in 18-49, Sunday's "Miss USA Pageant," tied for #8, and Sunday's "Adele Live in London," tied for #11. NBC averaged a 1.5 rating, 5 share in adults 18-49 and 4.8 million viewers overall for the week.
· The Tuesday telecast of "America's Got Talent" demonstrated the hit competition's broad appeal, ranking #1 among primetime telecasts on ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox across the board - in adults, men and women 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54, plus total viewers, kids 2-11 and teens 12-17.
· In addition to its weeklong win in adults 18-49, NBC also finished #1 among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox for the week in adults 18-34, adults 25-54, women 18-34 (tie) and all key adult-male demos.
· NBC's lineup accounted for four of the week's top six primetime programs on ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in adults 18-49 and five of the top 10. Tuesday's "Talent" ranked #1 in 18-49 and Monday's edition ranked #2, "American Ninja Warrior" and a Tuesday "Talent" encore tied for #5, "Miss USA" tied for #8, "Adele Live in London" tied for #11, and Friday's "Dateline NBC" and a Thursday "Talent" encore tied for #12.
· NBC finished #1 among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in 18-49 on four of the week's seven nights - Monday, Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday.
· Primetime averages for the week of May 28-June 3 in adults 18-49 were NBC (1.5/5), ABC (1.3/4), Fox (1.2/4), CBS (1.1/3) and CW (0.3/1). In overall total viewers the weekly averages were CBS (5.9 million), NBC (4.8 million), ABC (4.7 million), Fox (3.5 million) and CW (0.8 million).
