Wednesday Results:
· From 8-9 p.m. ET, "The Voice" (3.3/11 in 18-49, 10.7 million viewers overall) won the hour among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in adults 18-49 and total viewers, as well as adults, men and women 25-54, men and women 18-49; and adults and women 18-34, in a highly competitive time period versus Fox's second season premiere of "The X Factor" and CBS's "Big Brother." "The Voice" generated NBC's top non-sports 18-49 rating in the time period since September 14, 2011 and more than doubled NBC's average in the time period last season (1.5, L+SD non-sports), despite the competition from "X Factor" and "Big Brother."
· "The Voice's" margins versus "X Factor" in the hour were 22 percent in 18-49 rating (3.3 vs. 2.7) and 43 percent or 3.2 million persons in total viewers (10.7 million vs. 7.5 million).
· From its first half-hour to its second, "The Voice" grew by 0.8 of a rating point or 28 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 3.7 from a 2.9) and by 22 percent or 2.1 million persons in total viewers (11.7 million vs. 9.6 million).
· From 9-10 p.m. ET, "America's Got Talent" (2.9/8 in 18-49, 11.0 million viewers overall) won the hour among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in total viewers with the #1 results of the night on those networks. Head to head for the hour, "Talent" out-delivered "X Factor" in total viewers by 16 percent or 1.5 million persons (11.0 million vs. 9.5 million). "Talent" retained 88 percent of its 18-49 lead-in from "The Voice" and grew versus lead-in by 3 percent.
· "Talent" delivered season highs for a Wednesday telecast in 18-49 and total viewers.
· From 10-10: 30 p.m. ET, a preview of "Guy With Kids" (2.2/6 in adults 18-49, 6.2 million viewers overall) generated strong sampling, leading the half-hour among ABC, CBS and NBC in every key demographic and topping the combined rating of ABC's and CBS's encore competition in adults 18-49 (2.2 vs. 1.4 for CBS's "CSI" rebroadcast and 0.7 for ABC's "Revenge" encore).
· Excluding a special "America's Got Talent" that ran in the 10 p.m. hour on June 27, this is NBC's highest non-Olympic rating in the time period since September 21, 2011.
· From 10: 30-11 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "The New Normal" (1.4/4 in adults 18-49, 3.9 million viewers overall) also benefitted from solid sampling, leading the time period's encore competition on ABC and CBS in adults 18-49 and other key categories..
In Late-Night Metered Markets Wednesday night:
· In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," 2.4/7 with an encore telecast; CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman," 1.9/5 with an encore; and ABC's combo of "Nightline," 2.8/7; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 1.5/5.
· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," 0.7/.4 with an encore; "Late Show," 0.4/2 with an encore; "Nightline," 0.7/3; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.5/3.
· At 12:35 a.m., "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" (1.3/5 in metered-market households) beat CBS's "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" (0.9/3). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.4/3 in 18-49) topped "Late Late Show" (0.2/1).
· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.9/4 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.4/3 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.
