NATIONAL NIELSEN RATINGS FOR THE WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 17 - 23, 2012
THE RETURN OF "BONES," "SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE" FINALE, "THE X FACTOR" AUDITIONS AND "GLEE" HIGHLIGHT FOX'S WEEK
Last week, the return of BONES, a strong SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE finale combined with THE X FACTOR auditions and GLEE highlighted the network's week. For the week, FOX ranked No. 2 among Adults 18-34, No. 3 among Adults 18-49.
Monday's season premiere of BONES showed growth of +10% over its spring'12 average in the time period (vs. 2.1/6) and +21% from last year's finale (5/14/12, 1.9/6). The season finale of SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE posted its highest ratings in one month among Adults 18-49, Total Viewers, Adults 18-34 and Teens and was up +7% from the previous week in Adults 18-49 and +9% in Total Viewers while it was up +25% in Adults 18-34.
On Wednesday and Thursday, FOX won the nights in Adults 18-49, Total Viewers, Adults 18-34 and Teens. THE X FACTOR was the highest-rated program of the night on both nights among Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34. Also, Thursday's THE X FACTOR posted its highest Total Viewers and Teens so far this season. In fact, THE X FACTOR delivered its highest Teens in one year (since 9/29/11).
GLEE posted its highest Teens in nearly one year (since 10/4/11) and was up from its season premiere by +9% (3.6/14 vs. 3.3/13) and was the highest rated program of the night in Teens.

The season premiere of BONES posted a 2.3/7 in Adults 18-49 and showed growth of +10% over its spring'12 average in the time period (vs. 2.1/6) and +21% from last year's finale (5/14/12, 1.9/6).
At 9p the debut of THE MOB DOCTOR delivered 1.5/4 in Adults 18-49.
TUESDAY

On Tuesday, FOX ranked No. 2 for the night in Adults 18-49, Adults 18-34 and Teens. The season finale of SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE posted a 1.6/5, up +7% from the previous week in Adults 18-49 (9/11/12, 1.5/4) and +9% in Total Viewers (4.7 vs. 4.3 Mil) while it was up +25% in Adults 18-34 (1.5 vs. 1.2). SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE posted its highest ratings in one month in Adults 18-49, Total Viewers, Adults 18-34 and Teens (all since 8/15/12).
WEDNESDAY
8:00-10:00 THE X FACTOR: (A18 49: 3.6/11, 9.5 Mil Total Viewers)
FOX won Wednesday night in Adults 18-49, Total Viewers, Adults 18-34 and Teens. In fact, FOX outperformed the No. 2 network for the night (CBS) in Adults 18-49 by +24% (3.6 vs. 2.9) and +113% in Adults 18-34 (3.4 vs. 1.6).
The third telecast of THE X FACTOR posted a 3.6/11 and outperformed its season premiere the previous Wednesday by +6% in Adults 18-49 (3.6 vs. 3.4), +10% in Adults 18-34 (3.4 vs. 3.1), +5% in Women 18-49 (4.3 vs. 4.1), +14% in Women 18-34 (4.2 vs. 3.7) and +9% in Total Viewers (9.5 vs. 8.7 Mil.)
THE X FACTOR was the highest rated program of the night in Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34, outperforming the No. 2 programs, the season premiere of CBS' Survivor by +13% (3.6 vs. 3.2) in Adults 18-49, and Survivor along with the season finale of Big Brother by +113% in Adults 18-34 (3.4 vs. 1.6 each).
THE X FACTOR showed momentum throughout the night, growing every half hour in Adults 18-49 (3.0 > 3.3 > 3.9 > 4.1) with a +37% growth in its last half hour versus its first.
THURSDAY

On Thursday, FOX won the night in Adults 18-49, Total Viewers, Adults 18-34 and Teens.
THE X FACTOR and GLEE were the top two programs of the night in Adults 18-49, Adults 18-34 and Teens. THE X FACTOR was the highest rated program of the night in Total Viewers.
The second Thursday telecast of THE X FACTOR did a 3.5/11 and was up from the previous Thursday by +13% in Adults 18-49 (3.5/11 vs. 3.1/10), +32% in Adults 18-34 (3.3/12 vs. 2.5/9), +22% in Total Viewers (10.1 vs. 8.3 Mil) and +27% in P12-34 (3.3/12 vs. 2.6/10).
Compared to Wednesday night's performance THE X FACTOR was up +6% in Total Viewers (10.1 vs. 9.5 Mil) and +14% in Teens (3.2/14 vs. 2.8/11).
THE X FACTOR posted its highest Total Viewers and Teens so far this season. In fact, THE X FACTOR delivered its highest Teens in one year (since 9/29/11).
THE X FACTOR was the highest rated program of the night in Adults 18-49, Adults 18-34, Women 18-34 (tied with GLEE), P12-34 and Total Viewers.
In its second half hour THE X FACTOR showed impressive growth, gaining +23% in Adults 18-49 (3.8 vs. 3.1) and +18% in Total Viewers (11.0 vs. 9.3 Mil.)
At 9p week two of GLEE posted a 2.9/8 among Adults 18-49, and was up +1% from the previous week in Total Viewers (7.5 vs. 7.4 Mil.)
GLEE posted its highest Teens in nearly one year (since 10/4/11) and was up from its season premiere by +9% (3.6/14 vs. 3.3/13).
GLEE was the highest rated program of the night in Teens and Women 18-34 (tied with THE X FACTOR) and was the No. 2 program of the night in Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34 (behind only THE X FACTOR).
