"60 MINUTES" IS THE #3 PROGRAM OF THE WEEK
Hits Its Highest In-Season Weekly Ranking Since the Week Ending Dec. 18, 2011 and
Draws Its Largest Audience and Best Demographic Deliveries Since Jan. 8, 2012
Drawing nearly 16 million viewers, 60 MINUTES made the upper half of Nielsen's Top 10 list at #3 - its highest weekly ranking in season since the week ending Dec. 18, 2011.
America's most-watched news program delivered 15.96 million viewers to rank #3 in that category. It also finished at #3 in households (10.0/15), #6 in adults 25-54 (4.8/11) and #8 (tie) in adults 18-49 (3.6/09), according to Nielsen live-plus-same-day ratings for Sunday, Oct. 7.
It was the program's best deliveries in households, viewers, adults 25-54 and adults 18-49 since Jan. 8, 2012.
Sunday's 60 MINUTES broadcast contained a Steve Kroft investigation of Chinese telecom giant Huawei, Lesley's Stahl's story about Luxottica, the world's dominant eyewear company, and a Bob Simon report on the amazing rise from obscurity of Detroit singer-songwriter Rodriguez.
