L+7 Ratings: All 11 of ABC's Scripted Series Hit a 3.0 Rating or Better in Premiere Week
Live + 7 Day Ratings for 2012-13 Premiere Week (Week #1):
Based on Nielsen's DVR playback data for the opening week of the 2012-13 season, ABC's Modern Family was the biggest absolute gainer among Adults 18-49 (tied with NBC's Revolution), jumping by +2.3 rating points from its initially reported Live + Same Day rating to the final Live + 7 numbers (5.5 rating to 7.8 rating). ABC's Grey's Anatomy saw its young adult number increase by +1.5 rating points in the Live + 7 numbers (4.4 to 5.9), while 666 Park Avenue and Last Resort ranked among the four biggest actual gainers for freshman series, going up by +1.1 rating points (2.1 to 3.2) and +1.0 rating point (2.2 to 3.2), respectively, among Adults 18-49.
Based on the Live + 7 Day ratings during season premiere week, Modern Family strengthened its rank as TV's #1 scripted show among Adults 18-49, increasing its advantage over runner-up, CBS' The Big Bang Theory, to 13% (7.8 vs. 6.9). Grey's Anatomy solidified its claim as the #1 drama on TV, beating a The Voice-fueled Revolution (5.9 vs. 5.7). In addition, ABC's The Neighbors grew to a 3.8 rating among Adults 18-49 in the L+7 numbers, bolstering its rank as the #1 new comedy.
· Impressively, ABC was the only network to see each of its scripted series deliver a 3.0 Adult 18-49 rating or better in the Live + 7 Day program averages, including Modern Family (7.8), Grey's Anatomy (5.9), Once Upon a Time (5.3), Revenge (4.3), The Neighbors (3.8), The Middle (3.5), Last Resort (3.2), 666 Park Avenue (3.2), Private Practice (3.1), Castle (3.0) and Scandal (3.0).
· ABC had 9 shows (including all 8 of its drama series) gain more than 2.5 million viewers from their initially reported totals via DVR Playback: Modern Family (+4.41 million), Castle (+3.36 million), Grey's Anatomy (+3.28 million), Once Upon a Time (+3.11 million), Revenge (+2.79 million), Last Resort (+2.66 million), 666 Park Avenue (+2.64 million), Scandal (+2.56 million) and Private Practice (+2.56 million).
· In the final Live + 7 numbers, Once Upon a Time (5.3 vs. 5.2), Revenge (4.3 vs. 4.2) and Grey's Anatomy (5.9 vs. 5.8) all grew over their respective year-ago premieres among Adults 18-49.
