With Their First Telecasts in Three Weeks, "Go On" and "Parenthood" Are Down Just 0.1, "New Normal" Is Up
NBC spins the numbers for Tuesday, November 13.

Tuesday Results:

NBC has won its 6th consecutive Tuesday in 18-49 with the #1 show of the night, "The Voice" and the #1 drama on ABC, CBS or NBC at 10. "Parenthood." "Go On" and "The New Normal" rank #2 in 18-49 in their time periods.

With their first telecasts in three weeks, "Go On" and "Parenthood" are down just a tenth of a point from their prior episodes and "New Normal" is up a tenth.

* From 8-9:01 p.m. ET, "The Voice" (3.8/11 in 18-49, 11.0 million viewers overall) scored the #1 18-49 rating of the night on ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox, winning the time period by a 27 percent margin (with a 3.8 rating vs. a 3.0 for CBS's second-place "NCIS") and also topping ABC's "Dancing With the Stars" Results Show by 100 percent (3.8 vs. 1.9). "The Voice" is up 90 percent versus NBC's average in the time period last season in 18-49 rating (3.8 vs. 2.0) and up 80 percent in total viewers (10.984 million vs. 6.116 million).

* Despite last week's Tuesday preemption for election coverage, "The Voice" delivered gains versus the comparable results show from the prior cycle of 9 percent in 18-49 rating (with a 3.8 vs. a 3.5 from 9-10 p.m. on Tuesday, April 10) and 22 percent in total viewers (10.984 million vs. 8.999 million). "The Voice" grew by 0.5 of a point in 18-49 or 14 percent from half-hour to half-hour (to a 4.1 from a 3.6) and by 9 percent in total viewers (11.4 million vs. 10.5 million).

* From 9:01-9:31 p.m. ET "Go On" (2.3/6 in 18-49, 6.3 million viewers overall) finished #2 in the time period among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox, ahead of Fox's "New Girl" and ABC's "Happy Endings" in adults 18-49 and total viewers and within 0.5 of a rating point of #1 in the slot in 18-49 (2.3 vs. 2.8 for CBS's "NCIS" in the half-hour).

* With its first Tuesday telecast in three weeks, "Go On" retained 96% of the 2.4 for its prior edition in 18-49 and is currently showing total-viewers growth of 3 percent (6.318 million vs. 6.117 million).

* From 9:31-10:01 p.m. ET, "The New Normal" (1.8/5 in 18-49, 4.7 million in total viewers) finished #2 in the time period among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in adults 18-49 and total viewers.

* With its first telecast in three weeks, "The New Normal" is up 6% versus the 1.7 for its most recent episode in 18-49 and up 10 percent in total viewers (4.748 million vs. 4.329 million).

* From 10:01-11 p.m. ET, "Parenthood" (1.8/5 in 18-49, 4.7 million in total viewers) is the #1 drama on ABC, CBS and NBC in the time period in adults 18-49, topping CBS's "Vegas" by a 13 percent margin (1.8 vs. 1.6) and ABC's "Private Practice" by 64 percent (1.8 vs. 1.1). In the 10:30 lead-in to local news, "Parenthood" tied for #1 among ABC, CBS and NBC in the key news demos of adults 25-54 (2.2 rating each for "Parenthood" and "Vegas").

* With its first telecast in three weeks, "Parenthood" retained 95% of the 1.9 for its prior edition in 18-49

* Keep in mind that last season, "Parenthood" originals added an average of 47 percent to these next-day "live plus same day" ratings in 18-49 when Nielsen reported "live plus seven day" results.

In Late-Night Metered Markets Tuesday night:

* In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," 2.6/7; CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman," 2.7/7; and ABC's combo of "Nightline," 3.0/8; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 1.8/6.

* In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," 0.9/4; "Late Show," 0.5/3; "Nightline," 1.0/5; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.6/3.

* At 12:35 a.m., "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" (1.4/5 in metered-market households) beat CBS's "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" (1.3/5). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.5/3 in 18-49) topped "Late Late Show" (0.4/2).

* At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.9/4 in metered-market households and a 0.3/3 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.
