"JKL" Beats CBS' "Letterman" and Significantly Closes the Gap with NBC's "Leno"
"JKL" Surges Over its Previous Time Slot by 59% in Viewers and 33% in Young Adults

On Tuesday, January 8, 2013, ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live" attracted 3.097 million viewers on its first day in its new 11:35 p.m. time slot, marking its 2nd-most-watched telecast ever.
· "JKL" grew over its season average in its previous 12:00 a.m. time slot by 59% in Total Viewers (3.097 million vs. 1.942 million) and by 33% in Adults 18-49 (887,000 vs. 667,000).
· "Jimmy Kimmel Live" ran neck-and-neck with NBC's "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" (3.097 million vs. 3.274 million), as only 177,000 Total Viewers separated the two programs on Tuesday. In fact, "JKL" slashed nearly all of its Total Viewer gap with the NBC program on Tuesday versus its season gap in its previous time period (-89% - 177,000 vs. 1.591 million), while cutting its gap among young adults by half (-48% - 197,000 vs. 381,000).
· "Jimmy Kimmel Live" beat CBS' "The Late Show with David Letterman" by 7% in Total Viewers (3.097 million vs. 2.882 million) and by 30% in Adults 18-49 (887,000 vs. 683,000).
· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "JKL" ranked No. 1 in its time period in Adults 18-49 in 13 markets, including the No. 1 U.S. market: New York, Chicago, Philadelphia, Dallas, San Francisco, Atlanta, Houston, Seattle, Miami, Cleveland, Orlando, Sacramento and Baltimore. In Households, "JKL" won its time slot in 8 of the Top 10 markets, including each of the Top 4 (NY, LA, CH, PH).
