Tuesday's Broadcast Ratings: "NCIS" Pushes CBS in Front Among Viewers, Demons

Here are the highlights of the 19 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night:

CBS (16.481 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.7, #1) was the network to beat on Tuesday with its original lineup of "NCIS" (20.874 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 3.5, #1), "NCIS: Los Angeles" (17.788 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 3.0, #2) and "Vegas" (10.781 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.6, #8).

NBC (4.967 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.7, #2) then claimed the silver with the return of "Betty White's Off Their Rockers" (5.660 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.5, #T9), another "Betty White's Off Their Rockers" (6.141 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.8, #5), "Go On" (4.252 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.5, #T9), "The New Normal" (3.257 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 1.3, #14) and "Parenthood" (5.246 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.9, #4).

Next up was FOX (3.219 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.6, #3) with fresh installments of "Raising Hope" (3.769 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 1.7, #T6), "Ben & Kate" (2.475 million viewers, #17; adults 18-49: 1.2, #15), "New Girl" (3.801 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 2.0, #3) and "The Mindy Project" (2.830 million viewers, #16; adults 18-49: 1.5, #T9).

Meanwhile, ABC (4.233 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.3, #4) offered up repeats of "Modern Family" (5.792 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.7, #T6) and "The Middle" (4.821 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.5, #T9) plus originals from "Happy Endings" (3.750 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 1.4, #13), "Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23" (3.184 million viewers, #15; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T16) and "Private Practice" (3.926 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T16).

And finally, a repeat of "Hart of Dixie" (0.813 million viewers, #19; adults 18-49: 0.3, #T18) and a new "Emily Owens, MD" (1.070 million viewers, #18; adults 18-49: 0.3, #T18) closed out the night over on The CW (0.942 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.3, #5). In the netlet's target demo (women 18-34), "Dixie" delivered a 0.4 rating while "Emily" posted a 0.4 rating.

* In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," 0.8/4; "Late Show," 0.6/3; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 1.0/5.

* From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.8/6 in metered-market households and a 0.5/3 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

* From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" (1.2/4 in metered-market households) tied CBS's "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" (1.2/4). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.5/3 in 18-49) topped "Late Late Show" (0.4/3).

* At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.7/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.3/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.

CBS (16.30 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 3.2, #1) was the network to beat on Tuesday with fresh installments of "NCIS" (20.87 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 4.1, #1), "NCIS: Los Angeles" (16.77 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 3.4, #2) and "Unforgettable" (11.25 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 2.2, #T4).

Claiming the silver is NBC (6.04 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 2.2, #2) with its mix of "The Biggest Loser 13" (6.64 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 2.4, #3) and "Parenthood" (4.84 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.8, #7).

Next up was ABC (6.22 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.9, #3) with originals of "Last Man Standing" (7.91 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 2.2, #T4), "Work It" (5.10 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.6, #T8), "Celebrity Wife Swap" (5.24 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 2.1, #6) and "Body of Proof" (6.92 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.6, #T8).
