"Community" Jumps Week to Week by 25% in 18-49 Rating to Deliver Its Top Result in Four Weeks
NBC spins the numbers for Thursday, March 7.

Thursday Results:

* At 8 p.m. ET, "Community" (1.5/5 in 18-49, 3.4 million viewers overall) jumped week to week by 25 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 1.5 from a 1.2) and 19 percent in total viewers (3.362 million vs. 2.832 million), to deliver its top results in both categories in four weeks (since the show's season premiere on February 7). "Community" has now generated week-to-week gains in 18-49 the last two weeks in a row. In a highly competitive time period versus CBS's "Big Bang Theory," Fox's "American Idol" and ABC's "Shark Tank" encore, "Community" tied "Idol" for #2 in the half-hour among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in men 18-34. Last night's episode featured a guest appearance by James Brolin as the father of Jeff (Joel McHale).

* From 8:30-9 p.m. ET, a rebroadcast of "Parks and Recreation" (1.0/3 in 18-49, 2.3 million viewers overall) gained 11 percent versus last week's 0.9 in 18-49 and was up 8 percent in total viewers (2.344 million vs. 2.176 million), making this the show's highest-rated encore in both categories among five rebroadcasts aired so far this season.

* From 9-9:31 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "The Office" (1.1/3 in 18-49, 2.4 million viewers overall) is up versus last week's rebroadcast by 10 percent in both 18-49 rating (1.1 vs. 1.0) and total viewers (2.420 million vs. 2.206 million). It's the show's highest 18-49 rating among five rebroadcasts so far this season.

* From 9:31-10:01 p.m. ET, "1600 Penn" (0.9/2 in 18-49, 2.2 million viewers overall) retained 82 percent of its lead-in from an encore "Office" and in total viewers, the "1600 Penn" retention is 90 percent. "1600 Penn" equaled its 0.9 rating in 18-49 of one week ago.

* From 10:01-11 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (1.0//3 in 18-49, 3.9 million viewers overall) is up versus last week's rebroadcast by 11 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 1.0 from a 0.9). "SVU" tied ABC's "Scandal" encore in the time period in adults 18-49 (1.0 rating each) and adults 25-54 (1.3 each) and moved ahead of "Scandal" and tied CBS's "Elementary" rebroadcast in adults 18-34 and women 18-34.

In Late-Night Metered Markets Thursday night:

* In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," 2.2/6 with an encore telecast; CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman," 2.5/7 with an encore; and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 2.3/6.

* In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 Wednesday results were: "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," 0.6/3 with an encore; "Late Show," 0.6/3 with an encore; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.8/4.

* From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET Wednesday night, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.4/5 in metered-market households and a 0.5/3 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

* From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" (1.1/4 in metered-market households with an encore) trailed CBS's first-run "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" (1.2/4). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.4/3 in 18-49 with an encore) tied "Late Late Show" (0.4/3).

* At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.7/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.3/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.
