Tuesday's Broadcast Ratings: "NCIS" Powers CBS to Victory in Viewers, Demos

Here are the highlights of the 16 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night:

CBS (14.980 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.6, #1) was the top draw on Tuesday thanks to new episodes of "NCIS" (19.094 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 3.1, #1), "NCIS: Los Angeles" (16.587 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.8, #2) and "Golden Boy" (9.260 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.7, #T7).

Second place then went to ABC (8.878 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.0, #T2) with the premiere of "Splash" (8.805 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 2.6, #3) followed by its special "Dancing with the Stars: Exclusive First Look" (9.577 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 2.1, #5) and a new "Body of Proof" (8.252 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.5, #9).

Sharing the silver was FOX (4.267 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 2.0, #T2) with week two of "Hell's Kitchen" (4.854 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 2.0, #6) plus new episodes of "New Girl" (4.202 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 2.2, #4) and "The Mindy Project" (3.158 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 1.7, #T7).

Meanwhile, NBC (2.942 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.9, #4) offered up its mix of "Betty White's Off Their Rockers" (3.711 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T11), another "Betty White's Off Their Rockers" (3.701 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 1.1, #10), "Go On" (2.856 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T11), "The New Normal" (2.098 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.7, #14) and "Smash" (2.645 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.8, #13).

And finally, The CW (0.802 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.3, #5) closed out the evening with its special "Target Presents the IHeartRadio Album Release Party With Justin Timberlake" (1.075 million viewers, #15; adults 18-49: 0.4, #15) and a repeat of "Beauty and the Beast" (0.529 million viewers, #16; adults 18-49: 0.2, #16).

In the netlet's target demo (women 18-34), "Timberlake" delivered a 0.4 rating while "Beast" posted a 0.2 rating.

* In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 Wednesday results were: �The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,� 0.6/3; "Late Show," 0.6/3; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.8/4.

* From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET Wednesday night, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.3/4 in metered-market households and a 0.4/3 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

* From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" (1.1/4 in metered-market households) trailed CBS's "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" (1.3/5). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.4/3 in 18-49) tied "Late Late Show" (0.4/2).

* At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.7/3 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.


Here are the highlights of the 15 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (3/20/12):

CBS (15.33 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.7, #1) was the network to beat on Tuesday with the return of new episodes of "NCIS" (18.61 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 3.3, #1) - its season low, "NCIS: Los Angeles" (16.06 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.8, #2) - also its season low - and "Unforgettable" (11.32 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 2.1, #5).

NBC (5.99 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.1, #2) then claimed the silver with a new "The Biggest Loser 13" (6.55 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 2.2, #4) and week two of "Fashion Star" (4.86 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.8, #7).

Next up was FOX (3.71 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.7, #3) with its original mix of "Raising Hope" (3.76 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 1.6, #T8) - a season low, "I Hate My Teenage Daughter" (2.98 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 1.2, #12) - a series low, "New Girl" (5.12 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 2.6, #3) - also a series low - and "Breaking In" (2.96 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 1.3, #11) - also a season low.

Meanwhile, ABC (4.82 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.3, #4) offered up new episodes of "Last Man Standing" (7.04 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.9, #6) - a series low - and "Cougar Town" (4.61 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.6, #T8) followed by the season finale of "The River" (3.98 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 1.4, #10) and a repeat of "Body of Proof" (4.65 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.9, #13).

And finally, new episodes of "90210" (1.27 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.7, #14) and "Ringer" (1.16 million viewers, #15; adults 18-49: 0.5, #15) rounded out the night for The CW (1.21 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.6, #5). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," 0.9/4; "Late Show," 0.6/3; "Nightline," 1.0/4; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.5/3.

At 12:35 a.m., "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" (1.5/5 in metered-market household) beat CBS's "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" (1.2/4). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.6/4 in 18-4) topped "Late Late Show" (0.3/2).

At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.8/4 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters
