A&E POSTS 38% GROWTH AMONG TOTAL VIEWERS
NEW YORK, NY - April 30, 2013 - Fueled by the strength of the network's expansive slate of hit original series including, "Bates Motel," "Duck Dynasty," and "Storage Wars," A&E became the number 1 cable network for the month of April among the key adults 25-54 demographic. A&E also finished the month second in total viewers and third in adults 18-49, versus all entertainment cable networks.
For the month, A&E was up 38% in total viewers (1.92 million), 37% in adults 25-54 (973,000) and 37% in adults 18-49 (919,000) versus April 2012. This marked the network's best April average ever across the key demos.
The strong showing in April was led by "Duck Dynasty" with an average of 8.8 million total viewers, "Storage Wars" with an average of 2.9 million viewers and the new hit drama series "Bates Motel" with an average of 2.7 million total viewers, tuning in each week.
