UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - May 7, 2013 - NBC has matched its highest weeklong 18-49 rating in 16 weeks, since January 7-13, and delivered its biggest total-viewer result since that same week, finishing the week of April 29-May 5 with a 1.8 rating, 5 share in adults 18-49 and 5.6 million viewers overall, according to "live plus same day" viewing data from Nielsen Media Research.

The Monday and Tuesday editions of NBC's "The Voice" ranked #2 and #3 for the week in adults 18-49 among primetime programs on ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox, and the Monday "Voice" finished the week #1 on those networks in adults 18-34, women 18-34, women 18-49 and teens 12-17.

NBC's 1.8 rating in adults 18-49 pulled it within a tenth of a rating point of the weeklong win (1.9 for CBS and Fox).

Versus the same week last year, NBC was up 13 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 1.8 from a 1.6) and 9 percent in total viewers (5.7 million vs. 5.1 million), while ABC, CBS and Fox were down in both categories.

Primetime averages for the week of April 29-May 5 in adults 18-49 are: CBS, 1.9/6; Fox, 1.9/6; NBC, 1.8/5; ABC, 1.6/5; and CW, 0.5/2. In overall total viewers, the weekly averages were: CBS, 9.2 million; ABC, 6.7 million; Fox, 6.0 million; NBC, 5.6 million; and CW, 1.3 million.

Season to date averages through eight weeks are: CBS, 2.9/8; Fox, 2.5/7; NBC, 2.4/7; ABC, 2.2/6; and CW, 0.7/2. In overall total viewers, the season averages are: CBS, 12.0 million; ABC, 7.8 million; Fox, 7.1 million; NBC, 7.0 million; and CW, 1.8 million.

NBC highlights for the week of April 29-May 5

Monday: NBC is #1 for the night among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in 18-49 with a 46 percent margin over #2 (with a 3.5 rating vs. a 2.4 for Fox).

"The Voice" (4.3 rating, 12 share in adults 18-49, 12.7 million viewers overall from 8-10:01 p.m. ET) delivered the #1 rating Monday night in 18-49 by a 59 percent margin over the #2 show (2.7 for "The Following" and "How I Met Your Mother"). "The Voice" won its time period in 18-49 by a 79 percent margin over both CBS's original comedies and Fox's original dramas (2.4 each) and by 105 percent over ABC's "Dancing With the Stars" (2.1).

Versus the same night last year, "The Voice" was up 23 percent in 18-49 rating (4.3 vs. 3.5 on April 30, 2012). In total viewers, the increase is 33 percent (12.674 million vs. 9.515 million).

From 10:01-11 p.m. ET, "Revolution" (1.8/5 in adults 18-49, 5.5 million viewers overall) ranked #1 among ABC, CBS and NBC in the slot in men 18-49 and tied for #1 in men 18-34 and 25-54.

Tuesday: "The Voice" (3.9/11 in 18-49, 11.8 million viewers overall from 8-10:01 p.m. ET) delivered the #1 18-49 rating of the night by a 26 percent margin versus the #2 show, "NCIS" (3.1 from 8-9 p.m.). "The Voice" was up 26 percent versus its year-ago Tuesday telecast (3.9 vs. 3.1 from 9-10 p.m. on May 1, 2012) and up 33 percent in total viewers (11.8 million vs. 8.9 million).

The Tuesday debut of "Grimm" (1.9/5 in 18-49, 5.8 million in total viewers from 10:01-11 p.m. ET) scored the show's highest 18-49 and total-viewer results since October 26, 2012. "Grimm" also captured NBC's highest 18-49 rating in the time period since January 15 and the network's biggest overall audience in the slot since the December 18 "Voice" finale. In the time period, "Grimm" ranked #1 in adults 18-49, as well as adults 25-54 and 18-34 and other key demographics.

NBC ranked #1 or tied for #1 for the night among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in adults 18-49, adults 25-54, adults 18-34 and every other key demographic.

Wednesday: A special "Road to the Live Shows" recap episode of "The Voice" (1.7/5 in 18-49, 5.8 million viewers overall from 8-9:01 p.m. ET) earned NBC's top rating in the time period since January 2.

At 10 p.m. ET, the first "Chicago Fire" original in four weeks (1.7/5 in adults 18-49, 6.4 million viewers overall) matched the show's highest 18-49 rating since February 27. From its first half-hour to its second, "Chicago Fire" grew by 6 percent in adults 18-49 (to a 1.7 rating from a 1.6), 10 percent in adults 25-54 (2.3 vs. 2.1) and 4 percent in total viewers (6.5 million vs. 6.2 million).

Thursday: "Community" (1.2/4 in 18-49, 2.7 million viewers overall at 8 p.m. ET) jumped by 20 percent week to week in 18-49 rating (to a 1.2 from a 1.0) and by 15 percent in total viewers (2.7 million vs. 2.3 million).

"The Office" (1.8/5 in 18-49, 3.5 million viewers overall from 8:30-9:31 p.m. ET) grew week to week by 6 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 1.8 from a 1.7) and by 8 percent in total viewers (3.5 million vs. 3.3 million). For its special 8:30-9:31 p.m. ET slot, "The Office" delivered NBC's highest 18-49 rating in the time period since March 14 and top total-viewer result since February 14. In the time slot, "The Office" ranked #1 among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in adults 18-34 (with a 2.0 rating) and men 18-34 (1.8).

"Parks and Recreation" (1.6/4 in 18-49, 3.0 million viewers overall from 9:31-10:01 p.m. ET) was up week to week by 23 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 1.6 from a 1.3) and up 15 percent in total viewers (3.0 million vs. 2.6 million). The season finale of "Parks" retained 89 percent of the 8:30-9:31 p.m. rating of "The Office" in adults 18-49, matching "Parks'" top retention of "The Office" this season.

"Hannibal" (1.1/3 in 18-49 and 2.6 million viewers overall at 10:01 p.m. ET) delivered week-to-week increases of 10 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 1.1 from a 1.0) and 9 percent in total viewers (2.6 million vs. 2.4 million). "Hannibal" is a highly time-shifted series, with the prior week's telecast growing by 81 percent going from these next-day "live plus same day" ratings (0.97) to "live plus seven day" results (1.76), the show's biggest percentage increase to date.

Friday: "Dateline NBC" (1.2/4 in 18-49, 5.1 million viewers overall at 9 p.m. ET) grew from its first half-hour to its second by 18 percent in adults 18-49 (to a 1.3 rating from a 1.1), 29 percent in adults 25-54 (1.8 vs. 1.4) and 18 percent in total viewers (5.5 million vs. 4.7 million).

"Rock Center with Brian Williams" (1.1/3 in 18-49, 4.2 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET) scored its second-highest adult 18-49 rating in 11 weeks (since February 15), trailing over that span only the April 19 series-record rating with coverage of the capture of the Boston bombing suspect. Week to week, "Rock Center" was up 22 percent in adults 18-49 (to a 1.1 rating from a 0.9).

Saturday: "Smash" (0.5/2 in 18-49, 2.3 million viewers overall at 8 p.m. ET) hit a four-week high in 18-49 and delivered its biggest overall audience to date among five Saturday telecasts.

Sunday: "All-Star Celebrity Apprentice" (1.5/4 in 18-49, 4.8 million viewers overall from 9-11 p.m. ET) finished within 0.1 of a point of the prior week's 1.6 in 18-49. From its first hour to its second, "Apprentice" grew by 23 percent in adults 18-49 (to a 1.6 rating from a 1.3), 22 percent in 25-54 (2.2 vs. 1.8) and 19 percent in total viewers (5.2 million vs. 4.3 million).

An encore telecast of "The Voice" (0.9/3 in 18-49, 3.3 million viewers overall from 7-9 p.m. ET) grew from its first half-hour to its fourth by 71 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 1.2 from a 0.7) and by 73 percent or more than 1.8 million persons in total viewers (4.4 million vs. 2.5 million).
