Wednesday's Broadcast Ratings: Stanley Cup Finals Push NBC in Front

Here are the highlights of the 13 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night:

NBC (6.423 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.4, #1) was the top demo draw on Wednesday thanks to its coverage of the "NHL Stanley Cup Finals, Game 1" (6.423 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.4, #T1).

FOX (5.595 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 2.3, #2) then was a competitive second place with a new "MasterChef" (5.210 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 2.2, #3) and a second "MasterChef" (5.980 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 2.4, #T1).

Next up was CBS (6.444 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.2, #3) with a new "The American Baking Competition" (5.879 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T5) followed by repeats of "Criminal Minds" (6.294 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T5) and "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" (7.158 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.4, #4).

Meanwhile, ABC (4.047 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.1, #4) offered up its mix of "The Middle" (4.526 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.0, #10), "Family Tools" (3.732 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.9, #11), "Modern Family" (4.246 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T5), "How to Live with Your Parents (for the Rest of Your Life)" (4.021 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T5) and "The Lookout" (3.878 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 1.1, #9).

And finally, repeats of "Arrow" (1.272 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.3, #13) and "Supernatural" (1.058 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.4, #12) closed out the night over on The CW (1.165 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.3, #5). In the netlet's target demo (women 18-34), "Arrow" delivered a 0.2 rating at 8:00/7:00c and "Supernatural" a 0.3 rating at 9:00/8:00c.

CBS (5.65 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.3, #2) then took home a distant second place with a new "Dogs in the City" (5.59 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.1, #7) followed by repeats of "Criminal Minds" (5.58 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.3, #4) and "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" (5.78 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.5, #2).

In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," 2.8/7; CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman," 2.2/5; and ABC's combo of "Nightline," 3.1/7; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 1.4/4 with an encore.

In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," 0.8/4; "Late Show," 0.6/3; "Nightline," 0.9/4; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.5/3 with an encore.

At 12:35 a.m., "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" (1.4/5 in metered-market households) beat CBS's "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" (1.1/4). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.4/3 in 18-49) topped "Late Late Show" (0.3/2).

At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.8/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.3/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.
