THIS JULY, ANIMAL PLANET ACHIEVES MOST-WATCHED MONTH IN NETWORK HISTORY
- Network Also Scores its Best July Ever --
(July 30, 2013, Silver Spring, Md.) - July was hotter than a firecracker, and boy, did Animal Planet sizzle! July 2013 marked Animal Planet's most-watched month in history in both prime and total day among P2+ viewers (817K, 553K) and HH (570K, 402K).
The month also was Animal Planet's most-watched July ever in prime and total day. In addition to pulling record deliveries with P2+ and HH, the network scored highs among all demos, including P25-54 (344K, 226K), P18-49 (315K, 217K), M25-54 (177K, 112K) and W25-54 (168K, 114K).
Animal Planet ranked 16th among all ad-supported cable networks in July based on M25-54 delivery; this marked the seventh straight month of being a top-20 network.
The network's success was bolstered by the return of GATOR BOYS and CALL OF THE WILDMAN and freshman series TREEHOUSE MASTERS, all which helped Animal Planet achieve its most-watched week ever in total day among P2+ viewers (607K) during the week of July 22.
TREEHOUSE MASTERS is the network's second-most-watched series year to date among P2+ viewers and M25-54 and drew a series high of 1.6M P2+ viewers with its July 12 episode premiere. CALL OF THE WILDMAN follows as the third-most-watched Animal Planet series year to date among P2+ viewers and M25-54 and saw a record performance of 1.9M P2+ viewers with its season premiere. GATOR BOYS chomped off 1.1 M P2+viewers in its second-season debut on July 28.
