HGTV'S "BROTHER VS. BROTHER" FIRST SEASON SCORES RATINGS SUCCESS
NEW YORK [For Immediate Release - August 28, 2013] The finale of HGTV's newest competition series Brother vs. Brother on Sunday, August 25at 10P delivered 0.79 P25-54 rating. In fact, the Sunday finale was a top 5 program in all of cable for the night among upscale A25-54 viewers in households with 100K plus income. During its six-week run, the series was up 100% over the same time period last year and was a top 4 regularly scheduled Sunday night cable series among upscale A25-54. In addition, 12.5 million viewers tuned in to the series and 57 percent of the show's A25-54 prime viewers reside in households with $100k plus incomes -- 117% higher than the cable average.
The series featured two of HGTV's top experts, twin brothers Jonathan Scott and Drew Scott, who are also stars of HGTV's popular series Property Brothers. Brother vs. Brother pitted Jonathan's skills as a licensed contractor against Drew's skills as an experienced as a real estate agent as they and their teams vied to execute the smartest home renovation upgrades and score the biggest property-value increases. The real renovations were executed in real homes on realistic budgets with strict deadlines. They also required that the team members demonstrate sharp skills and smart choices to impress judges and avoid elimination. The team that added the most value to the property stayed in the game, while the losing team faced one of their own being voted out of the competition.
