ABC Is Monday's Most-Watched Net as "Dancing" Continues to Top "The Voice"
ABC Monday Prime 8-11pm (11.7 million and 1.8/5 in AD18-49): ABC was Monday's most-watched network for the 2nd week in a row (11.7 million), leading NBC by 2% (11.5 million), Fox by 63% (7.2 million) and CBS by 72% (6.8 million). Topping the night, ABC's Dancing continued to pull in a larger audience than NBC's The Voice (12.5 million vs. 11.9 million).
DWTS 8-10pm (12.5 million and 1.7/5 in AD18-49): ABC's Dancing with the Stars ranked Monday's most-watched entertainment show for the 3rd week running over NBC's The Voice (12.5 million vs. 11.9 million). Also in its 8-10pm time period, Dancing outdrew CBS' 2-hour comedy block by 4.6 million viewers (7.9 million) and Fox's dramas by 5.3 million viewers (7.1 million). Elizabeth Berkley was eliminated this week.
Castle 10-11pm (10.1 million and 1.9/5 in AD18-49): Building on its Adult 18-49 lead-in (+12%) during the 10 o'clock hour, ABC's Castle more than doubled the audience of CBS' Hostages (+124% - 10.1 million vs. 4.5 million) and led by 73% with young adults (1.9/5 vs. 1.1/3).

A note about increasing DVR penetration and year-to-year rating comparisons: Year-to-year rating comparisons based on the Live + Same Day data stream are distorted by the level of DVR penetration in the Nielsen sample, which has jumped up to 48% currently, from 46% at the same point in 2012. More viewers are watching shows on their own timetables, which may not be reflected in the overnight next day numbers. The only truly valid year-to-year comparison would be one based on the Live + 7 Day metric, once those stats are released by Nielsen.
