Tuesday Results:
· From 8-11 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of the 1946 movie classic "It's a Wonderful Life" (1.1/4 in 18-49, 4.7 million viewers) ranked #2 for the night among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in adults 18-49 and total viewers and tied for #1 in adults 25-54 and all key adult-male demographics..
· From its first half-hour to its sixth, "It's a Wonderful Life" grew by 44% in 18-49 rating (to a 1.3 from a 0.9) and by 38% or more than 1.5 million viewers overall (5.6 million vs. 4.0 million). For the 10:30 lead-in to local news, "It's a Wonderful Life" delivered a 27% margin of victory in the key news demographic of adults 25-54 (with a 1.9 rating vs. a 1.5 for ABC's second-place "How the Grinch Stole Christmas") and was also #1 in men and women 25-54, men 18-34 and men 18-49.
· This is NBC's 36th primetime run of "It's a Wonderful Life," directed by Frank Capra and starring Jimmy Stewart, since the movie was brought to broadcast network television in 1994.
Wednesday Primetime Results:
· From 8-9 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "Kelly Clarkson's Cautionary Christmas Music Tale" (0.7/2 in adults 18-49, 3.5 million viewers overall) grew from its first half-hour to its second by 14% in 18-49 rating (to a 0.8 from a 0.7) and by 13% in total viewers (3.756 million vs. 3.328 million).
· From 9-10 p.m. ET, a rebroadcast of "Michael Bublé's 3rd Annual Christmas Special" (0.7/2 in adults 18-49, 3.4 million viewers overall) retained 100% of its lead-in in adults 18-49, adults 18-34 and other key measures.
· From 10-11 p.m., an encore holiday edition of "Hollywood Game Night" (0.6/2 in 18-49, 2.1 million viewers overall) tied for #1 in the slot among ABC, CBS and NBC in adults 18-49 and was #1 outright among those networks in adults, men and women 18-34.
In Late-Night Metered Markets Wednesday night:
· In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," 1.8/5 with an encore telecast; CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman," 1.8/5 with an encore; and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 1.5/4 with an encore.
· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," 0.5/2 with an encore; "Late Show," 0.4/2 with an encore; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.6/3 with an encore.
· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.1/4 in metered-market households and a 0.4/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.
· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" (1.0/3 in metered-market households with an encore telecast) beat CBS's "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" (0.9/3 with an encore). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.4/2 in 18-49 with an encore) topped "Late Late Show" (0.2/1 with an encore).
· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.6/2 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.2/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.
