The success of Klondike, Discovery Channel's critically acclaimed first ever mini-series, drove Discovery Channel to deliver its BEST MONTH EVER in total viewers and key demos. With strong performances by popular series that included Fast N' Loud, Alaska: The Last Frontier, Bering Sea Gold, Moonshiners, The Dirt, Street Outlaws and Gold Rush, Discovery Channel delivered its best January in network history. Discovery also beat broadcast television networks among Men on various nights as numerous Discovery series were the #1 program on their respective nights.
Discovery delivered its best month ever among Households, Total Viewers P2+, Persons and Men M18+ and Persons and Men 25-54 delivery, no exclusions. Discovery Channel delivered its best January ever among Households, Total Viewers P2+, Persons and Men 18+, Persons and Men 25-54 delivery, no exclusions. It was also the second most watched January in network history among Women 25-54 delivery.
Discovery Channel ranked in the top 10 cable networks for January, no exclusions, across key demos including Men 25-54 (#2), Men 18-49 (#2), Persons 25-54 (#4), Persons 18-49 (#4), Men 18-34 (#6), and Persons 18-34 (#8) delivery. Discovery Channel was as the #2 Prime Time cable network for Men in January (Men 25-54/18-49 delivery), no exclusions, behind only ESPN.
January Prime Time for Discovery delivered double digit increases in average total viewers P2+ with 1.77 million (+12% from Jan. 2013) and 936,000 in Persons 25-54 (+3% from Jan. 2013).
