Much like the Super Bowl, FOX shut out the competition delivering a whopping 10.5/27 among Adults 18-49 and 30.1 million viewers for the week, leading the network to not only rank No. 1 for the week across all demos, but also bringing FOX into first place for the season among Adults 18-49, Adults 18-34 and Teens.
Television history was made last night on FOX as SUPER BOWL XLVIII averaged a spectacular 112.2 million viewers to become the new most-watched program in television history, eclipsing the prior mark of 111.3 million set two years ago by Super Bowl XLVI.
Following FOX's Super Bowl XLVIII, a special episode of NEW GIRL aired at 10:23pm and posted its highest deliveries EVER, including an 11.4 rating among Adults 18-49, a +138% gain over its prior high (4.8 rating for its series debut on 9/20/11) and earned its highest Total Viewers yet, 26.3 Mil, outperforming its prior high of 10.3 Mil (also since its series debut, 9/20/11.) Also, NEW GIRL is now broadcast television's highest-rated comedy telecast in nearly 10 years in Adults 18-49, since the Friends series finale on 5/6/04 (24.9/54).
Airing at 10:54pm, a special episode of BROOKLYN NINE-NINE delivered its highest-rating EVER, a 6.9 among Adults 18-49 and 15.1 Mil among Total Viewers, out-delivering its prior high by +165% in Adults 18-49 (vs. 2.6 rating for its series debut, 9/17/13) and +144% in Total Viewers (vs. 6.2 Mil for its series debut).
FOX currently ranks No. 1 for the season, up one-tenth over NBC among Adults 18-49 (2.9/8 vs. 2.8/8 for NBC) with an increase over year-ago of +16% (2.9/8 vs. 2.5/7).

Program and Nightly Highlights
Monday: FOX ranked No. 4 among Adults 18-49 for the night with an encore of THE FOLLOWING at 8p (1.1/3) and an original THE FOLLOWING at 9p (2.0/5).
Tuesday: FOX ranked No. 2 among Adults 18-49 (tie) and Adults 18-34 (tie) for the night. DADS (1.5/4) was even with the previous week in Adults 18-49 (1/21/14, 1.5/4) and grew +8% week-to-week in Adults 18-34 (1.3/4 vs. 1.2/4). DADS was the night's No. 1 program among Adults 18-34 (tie) and Men 18-34.
An encore BROOKLYN NINE-NINE at 8:30p (1.2/3) was followed by the STATE OF THE UNION ADDRESS (sustained).
Wednesday: FOX won the night in Adults 18-49, Total Viewers, Adults 18-34, Teens and all key demos. In fact, FOX outperformed the second highest-rated networks of the night by +138% in Adults 18-49 (3.8/10 vs. 1.6/4 for NBC), +107% in Adults 18-34 (2.9/9 vs. 1.4/4 for Univision), +243% in Teens (2.4/9 vs. 0.7/3 for both CBS and Univision) and +72% in Total Viewers (12.7 vs. 7.4 Mil for CBS).
AMERICAN IDOL (3.8/10) was up +12% from its previous telecast on Thursday night in Adults 18-49 (1/23/14, 3.4/10, 8-9p).
AMERICAN IDOL was the highest-rated program of the night, outperforming the No. 2 programs by +90% in Adults 18-49 (3.8/10 vs. 2.0/5 for NBC's Law & Order: SVU), +71% in Adults 18-34 (2.9/9 vs. 1.7/5 for Univision's Que Vida Me Robo), +140% in Teens (2.4/9 vs. 1.0/4 for CBS' Super Bowl's Greatest Commercials and Univision's Que Vida Me Robo) and +32% in Total Viewers (12.7 vs. 9.6 Mil for CBS' Super Bowl's Greatest Commercials.)
AMERICAN IDOL grew throughout the night, gaining +24% in its last half hour versus its first in Adults 18-49 (half hours: 3.3/9 > 3.8/10 > 4.1/11 > 4.1/11) and +19% in Total Viewers (11.3 > 12.8 > 13.4 > 13.4 Mil).
Thursday: FOX ranked No. 2 for the night in Adults 18-49 and No. 1 in Adults 18-34 and Teens (tie). AMERICAN IDOL did a 3.2/9 in Adults 18-49. AMERICAN IDOL grew half-half to half-hour, gaining +17% in Adults 18-49 (half hours: 2.9/9 > 3.4/10) and +15% in Total Viewers (10.6 > 12.2 Mil). RAKE posted a 1.3/4 among Adults 18-49 at 9p.
Friday: FOX ranked No. 4 in prime among Adults 18-49 with BONES (1.6/6), ENLISTED (0.8/3) and RAISING HOPE (0.6/2).
Saturday: FOX ranked No. 2 in Adults 18-49 Saturday night. The NFL HONORS special posted a 0.9/3 among Adults 18-49 from 8-10p.
Sunday: Following FOX's Super Bowl XLVIII, a special episode of NEW GIRL aired at 10:23pm and posted its highest deliveries ever, including an 11.4 rating among Adults 18-49, a +138% gain over its prior high (4.8 rating for its series debut on 9/20/11). NEW GIRL outperformed last year's post-Super Bowl program, CBS' ELEMENTARY among Adults 18-49 (+46%, 11.4 vs. 7.8, 2/3/13) and Total Viewers (+26%, 26.3 vs. 20.9 Mil).
Last night's NEW GIRL also outperformed the most recent post-Super Bowl sitcom, The Office (2/1/09) by +4% in Adults 18-49 (11.4 vs. 11.0) and +15% in Total Viewers (26.3 Mil vs 22.9 Mil).
NEW GIRL was the highest-rated scripted entertainment telecast on broadcast TV in six years, since FOX's post-Super Bowl House (12.9 rating on 2/3/08).
