TBS Ranks as Basic Cable's #1 Network in Primetime Delivery of Adults 18-49 for the Month of February

On the strength of its original comedies Cougar Town and Men at Work, as well as the competition series King of the Nerds and the hit sitcom The Big Bang Theory, TBS ranked as basic cable's #1 network in primetime delivery of adults 18-49 for the month of February.

TBS's hit original sitcom Cougar Town earned double-digit growth across key demos last week. The show garnered 2.0 million viewers in Live + 3 viewing (+18% vs. the prior week), with 1.3 million adults 18-49 (+15% vs. the prior week) and 620,000 adults 18-34 (+23% vs. the prior week).

TBS's Men at Work averaged 1.7 million viewers in Live + 3 delivery for Wednesday's episode, with 1.0 million adults 18-49 and 429,000 adults 18-34.

TBS's hit competition series King of the Nerds drew 1.2 million viewers in Live + 3 delivery for Thursday's episode, with 406,000 adults 18-34 and 876,000 adults 18-49.

TBS's telecasts of The Big Bang Theory ranked as the #1 off-net sitcom on basic cable for February among viewers (2.5 million) and adults 18-49 (1.2 million). TBS's telecasts of The Big Bang Theory last week accounted for all 19 of basic cable's Top 20 off-net sitcom telecasts for the week among total viewers and 17 of the Top 20 among adults 18-49.

Adult Swim

Across February 2014, Adult Swim's average Total Day Delivery ranked #1 among all basic cable networks for adults 18-24, 18-34 & 18-49 and men 18-24, 18-34, & 18-49. Adult Swim's average Primetime delivery grew vs. last year's time period among men 18-34 by 2% and men 18-49 by 3%.

Monday night presentations of The Cleveland Show (9:30 p.m.) grew average delivery of adults 18-24 & 18-34 and all targeted male demos vs. last year, ranging between 5% and 23%.

Saturday night's TOONAMI presentation of One Piece (1 a.m.) grew average delivery of adults and men 18-34, while Sword Art Online (2 a.m.) grew delivery of adults 18-34 & 18-49 and men 18-34 & 18-49 vs. the same time period last year.

Adult Swim programming in February 2014 accounted for 19 of the top 50 telecasts on basic cable among adults 18-34, and 17 of the top 50 with men 18-34, both more than any other network.

Cartoon Network

Across February 2014, Cartoon Network ranked as the #1 television network among boys 9-14 on Monday Night (7-9 p.m.).

Cartoon Network also scored as the #1 television network among boys 6-11 & 9-14 on Tuesday Night (7-9 p.m.). New episodes of original animated series Uncle Grandpa (8 p.m.) ranked #1 in the time period among boys 2-11 & 6-11, while growing average delivery by mostly double-digits vs. last year among kids 2-11 (+21%), kids 6-11 (+19%), boys 2-11 (+15%) and boys 6-11 (+7%). Animated series Johnny Test also claimed its 7:30 p.m. timeslot among boys 9-14.

Making it three nights in a row, Cartoon Network was the #1 television network among all targeted boys 2-11, 6-11 & 9-14 on Wednesday Night (7-9 p.m.), with the night increasing average delivery by double-digits among all kids and boy demos vs. last year, ranging between 18% and 26%. Animated series DreamWorks Dragons: Defenders of Berk (8 p.m.) ranked #1 in its time period among all boy demos, with new episode premieres of the series growing by double-digits among all targeted kids and boys, between 15% and 24%. The 7:30 p.m. new episode premieres of Teen Titans GO! also grew by double-digits with all kids and boy demos vs. the same time period last year.

Cartoon Network was the #1 television network among boys 6-11 on all TV on Friday Night (7-9 p.m.), with the night overall growing delivery of kids 2-11 (+3%) and boys 2-11 (+10%) & boys 6-11 (+3%).

TNT

TNT's exclusive coverage of the 2014 NBA All-Star Game on Sunday, Feb. 16, ranked as basic cable's #1 sporting event for the month among total viewers (7.5 million), adults 18-49 (4.2 million), adults 25-54 (3.4 million) and adults 18-34 (2.5 million).

TNT's exclusive NBA telecast last Thursday, featuring the Miami Heat vs. Oklahoma City Thunder averaged 3.8 million total viewers, a +57% increase compared with the network's comparable telecast last year. The game ranked as the second most-viewed regular-season NBA telecast across all of cable this season, trailing only TNT's opening-night game between the Heat and Chicago Bulls. Overall, the network's doubleheader - which also showcased the Houston Rockets vs. Golden State Warriors - averaged 2.8 million total viewers, a +31% boost over last year.

TNT's real-life crime series Cold Justice garnered 1.6 million viewers in Live + Same Day delivery Friday night, an increase of +18% over the prior week's episode. In key demos, the show scored 504,000 adults 18-49 (+15% vs. the prior week) and 509,000 adults 25-54. For the season-to-date, the show has grown +6% among adults 25-54 and +20% among adults 18-49 compared to season one.

TNT's APB with Troy Dunn closed out its first season with the show's biggest Live + Same Day deliveries to-date. Friday night's season finale averaged 1.1 million viewers, nearly doubling its delivery from the prior week. Among key demos, the season finale garnered 361,000 adults 18-49 (+35% vs. the prior week) and 340,000 adults 25-54 (+10%).

truTV

truTV's Lizard Lick Towing wrangled 1.9 million viewers in February, with 1.0 million adults 18-49. The hit series ranked one of ad-supported cable's Top 5 entertainment programs in its Monday 9:30 p.m. timeslot with key male demos, outdelivering shows on ESPN, AMC, A&E and FX with men 18-49.

truTV's unscripted comedy hit Impractical Jokers scored an average of 1.7 million viewers in February, with 1.0 million adults 18-49. The show ranked as one of ad-supported cable's Top 5 programs in its Thursday night timeslots with key adult and male demos. The show also garnered a remarkably young median of only 32.
