UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - March 11, 2014 - NBC has tied for #1 among the Big 4 networks for the primetime ratings week of March 3-9 in adults 18-49, with a 64% increase on its rating for the same week last year, as well as an 89% jump in total viewers. According to "live plus same day" viewing figures from Nielsen Media Research, NBC averaged a 1.8 rating, 5 share in adults 18-49 and 6.7 million viewers overall for the week of March 3-9, up from its year-ago 1.1 rating in 18-49 and 3.5 million viewers overall.

This is first time NBC has earned a share of first place during a seven-day in-season week this late in the season since May 2004 (the week of May 3-9, 2004, excludes last season's Week 35, which included three in-season nights and ended up in a three-way tie between ABC, NBC and Fox).

For the March 3-9 week, NBC was up versus the same week last year by more than 50% in every key ratings measure.

The Monday and Tuesday editions of "The Voice" ranked #2 and #3 among the week's primetime programs on the Big 4 networks in adults 18-49, with "The Blacklist" tying for #9, "About a Boy" tying for #15, and "Chicago Fire" and "Growing Up Fisher" tying for #27.

The Monday "Voice" ranked #1 among the week's primetime programs on ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in adults 18-34 (tied), women 18-34, women 18-49, kids 2-11 (tie) and teens 12-17.

Through 24 weeks of the season, NBC ranks #1 among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in adults 18-49, adults 25-54 and other key demos. It's the first time NBC has ranked #1 in 18-49 this late in the season in 10 years (since the 2003-04 season).

NBC's 3.0 rating in adults 18-49 is the network's top average at this point in the season in five years (since a 3.0 in 2008-09).

Versus one year ago, NBC is up 20% season to date in adults 18-49 (3.0 vs. 2.5).

In total viewers, NBC ranks #2 for the season with an average of 10.2 million viewers, which is its biggest overall audience 24 weeks into the season in 10 years (since 2003-04, 11.0 million). Versus one year ago, NBC is up 38% season to date in total viewers (10.2 million vs. 7.4 million).

Primetime averages for the week of March 3-9 in adults 18-49 are: CBS, 1.8/5; NBC, 1.8/5; ABC, 1.7/5; Fox, 1.4/4; and CW, 0.6/2. In overall total viewers, the weekly averages were: CBS, 9.3 million; NBC, 6.7 million; ABC, 5.9 million; Fox, 4.7 million; and CW, 1.5 million.

Season-to-date averages are: NBC, 3.0/9; Fox, 2.7/8; CBS, 2.4/7; ABC, 2.1/6; and CW, 0.8/2. In overall total viewers, the season averages are: CBS, 10.8 million; NBC, 10.2 million; Fox, 8.1 million; ABC, 7.4 million; and CW, 1.9 million.

NBC highlights for the week of March 3-9:

Monday: NBC swept six of six half-hours among the Big 4 networks Monday night in adults 18-49 and total viewers with "The Voice" and "The Blacklist," both of which ranked #1 in their time periods among the Big 4 networks in every key ratings category.

"The Voice" (4.5 rating, 12 share in adults 18-49, 15.6 million viewers overall from 8-10:01 p.m. ET) scored the #1 results of the night in adults 18-49, total viewers and other key measure. This week's "Voice" delivered the show's second-highest 18-49 rating for a Monday telecast since Oct. 14, trailing over that span only the prior week's 4.7 for the debut episode of the current cycle. And excluding the prior week, it was the top Monday total-viewer result for "The Voice" since March 5, 2012.

From 10:01-11 p.m. ET, "The Blacklist" (2.7/8 in adults 18-49, 11.0 million viewers overall) dominated the time period among ABC, CBS and NBC, prevailing by a 69% margin over ABC's second-place "Castle" (2.7 vs. 1.6) and topping CBS's "Intelligence" by 125% (2.7 vs. 1.2). "The Blacklist" retained 87% of the prior week's rating in adults 18-49 (2.7 vs. 3.1) and 99% in total viewers (11.0 million vs. 11.2 million). "The Blacklist" ranked #1 in the hour among ABC, CBS and NBC with dominant margins in every key measure.

L+3 Time-Shifting: "Blacklist" grew by 4.6 million viewers in "live plus three day" results (to 15.6 million from 11.0 million) and was up 56% in 18-49 (to a 4.19 from a 2.69).

Tuesday: NBC finished #1 Tuesday in adults 18-49, winning five of six half-hours among the Big 4 in 18-49. "The Voice" and "About a Boy" ranked #1 and tied for #2 for the night respectively in 18-49.

"The Voice 6" (4.1/12 in 18-49, 14.5 million viewers overall from 8-9:01 p.m. ET) won its time period among the Big 4 networks in every key demo. "The Voice" was up 11% in 18-49 versus the prior week's 3.7 and up 11% or 1.5 million persons in total viewers (14.5 million 13.0 million). It's the show's best Tuesday rating in 18-49 since Oct. 22 and biggest Tuesday audience since Oct. Oct. 1, even beating last December's fall finale.

"About a Boy" (2.5/7 in 18-49, 8.4 million viewers overall from 9:01-9:31 p.m. ET) ranked #1 in the time period by 0.4 of a rating point in adults 18-49 (2.5 vs. 2.1 that half-hour for "NCIS: LA"). "About a Boy" earned NBC's top 18-49 and total-viewers results in the time period, excluding Olympics, since the "Voice" finale on Dec. 17. "About a Boy" generated a 14% increase versus its prior original telecast in 18-49 (2.5 vs. 2.2 for a post-Olympic preview on Saturday, Feb. 22).

"Growing Up Fisher" (1.9/5 in 18-49, 6.9 million viewers overall from 9:31-10 p.m. ET) finished within a 0.2 of a rating point of slot leader "NCIS: LA" in 18-49 (1.9 vs. 2.1) and won the slot among the Big 4 in women 18-34 and women 18-49. "Growing Up Fisher" finished within a tenth of a rating point of its prior original in 18-49 (1.9 vs. 2.0 with a special post-Olympic preview on Sunday, Feb. 23).

"Chicago Fire" (1.9/6 in 18-49, 7.1 million viewers overall) won the 10 p.m. hour ET in adults 18-49 and other key demos with its highest 18-49 rating since Jan. 7. From half-hour to half-hour, "Chicago Fire" maintained its 18-49 rating despite the 10 p.m. hour. L+3 Time-Shifting: The prior "Chicago Fire" grew by 54% in 18-49 (to a 2.76 from a 1.79) and 2.8 million viewers overall (9.9 million vs. 7.1 million) going from these L+SD ratings to L+3.

Wednesday: "Revolution" (1.3/4 in adults 18-49 and 4.8 million viewers overall from 8-9 p.m. ET) matched its prior two 18-49 ratings and was up week to week in total viewers by 3% (4.8 million vs. 4.6 million). L+3 Time Shifting: The prior "Revolution" grew by 52% in L+3 versus these L+SD figures (to a 1.96 rating from a 1.29).

"Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (1.6/4 in adults 18-49, 6.0 million viewers overall from 9-10:01 p.m. ET) built on its 18-49 lead-in by 23%. "SVU" grew half-hour to half-hour in most key measures, including a gain of 7% in adult 18-49 rating (to a 1.6 from a 1.5). L+3 Time-Shifting: The prior "SVU" grew by 40% in L+3 versus these L+SD figures (to a 2.82 rating from a 2.01).

"Chicago P.D." (1.5/5 in 18-49, 6.1 million viewers overall from 10:01-11 p.m. ET) retained 94% of its 18-49 lead-in and built slightly on its total-viewer lead-in. "Chicago P.D." finished within 0.2 of a point of the time-slot lead among ABC, CBS and NBC in adults 18-49 and was #1 among those networks in adults 18-34. In its first seven weeks on the schedule, "Chicago P.D." has now generated NBC's seven best 18-49 results in the time period, excluding Olympics and "Saturday Night Live" specials, since Sept. 25, 2013. L+3 Time-Shifting: The prior week's crossover episode of "Chicago P.D.," in addition to setting a L+SD series high in adults 18-49, grew in L+3 by a best-yet 0.89 of a point (to a 3.08 from a 2.19, +41%).

Thursday: "Community" (1.0/3 in adults 18-49, 2.8 million viewers overall from 8-8:30 p.m. ET) matched the prior week's rating in 18-49 and was up 9% in total viewers (2.8 million vs. 2.6 million). L+3 Time Shifting: The prior week's "Community" grew by 48% or a season-high 0.48 of a rating point going from these L+SD results to L+3 (to a 1.47 from a 0.99)

"Parks and Recreation" (1.3/4 in 18-49, 3.0 million viewers overall from 8:30-9:01 p.m. ET) grew 18% week to week in adults 18-49 (to a 1.3 rating from a 1.1) and was up 17% in total viewers (2.955 million vs. 2.521 million). This week's "Parks" built on its lead-in by 30% in 18-49. The 1.3 rating matches "Parks'" highest since Jan. 9 (1.5). L+3 Time Shifting: The prior week's "Parks and Recreation" grew by 42% or 0.45 of a rating point going from these L+SD results to L+3 (to a 1.53 from a 1.08)

"Hollywood Game Night" (1.1/3 in 18-49, 3.3 million viewers overall from 9:01-10 p.m. ET) finished within a tenth of a point of last week's 1.2 for the show's first Thursday telecast this season. This week's "Hollywood Game Night" maintained its rating or grew from half-hour to half-hour in every key measure, including gains of +9% in adults 18-49 (to a 1.2 from a 1.1) and +15% in women 18-49 (1.5 vs. 1.3).

"Parenthood" (1.2/4 in 18-49, 3.8 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET) grew week to week by 9% in 18-49 rating (to a 1.2 from a 1.1) and 6% in total viewers (3.8 million vs. 3.6 million). L+3 Time-Shifting: The previous "Parenthood" grew by 82% or 0.91 of a rating point in 18-49 going from L+SD to L+3 ratings (to a 2.02 from a 1.11) and by 2.1 million viewers overall (to 5.7 million from 3.6 million).

Friday: "Dateline NBC" (1.5/5 in 18-49, 7.4 million viewers overall from 8-9 p.m. ET) won its time period in adults 18-49, jumping 25% week to week in 18-49 (to a 1.5 rating from a 1.2) and 19% in total viewers (7.4 million vs. 6.2 million). From its first half-hour to its second, "Dateline" grew in every key measure, including gains of 23% in adults 18-49 (to a 1.6 from a 1.3) and 21% or more than 1.4 million persons in total viewers (8.2 million vs. 6.7 million). "Dateline" scored its highest 18-49 rating since Jan. 17 and matched its season high.

"Grimm" (1.5/5 in 18-49, 5.7 million viewers overall from 9-10:01 p.m. ET) matched its highest 18-49 rating since Dec. 6 and ranked as the #1 scripted show of the night in adults 18-49, with a 7% increase week to week in 18-49 (to a 1.5 from a 1.4) and 6% in total viewers (5.7 million vs. 5.3 million). L+3 Time-Shifting: The prior week's "Grimm" was heavily time-shifted, increasing by 74% going from these next-day L+SD ratings to L+3 (from a 1.44 to a 2.50).

"Hannibal" averaged a 0.8/3 in 18-49 and 2.5 million viewers overall from 10:01-11 p.m. ET. While down versus the prior week's season-premiere 1.1, "Hannibal" matched last season's finale rating (0.8 at 10 p.m. on Thursday, June 20, 2013). L+3 Time-Shifting: "Hannibal's" season premiere the prior week was heavily time-shifted, growing by 69% going from its next-day "live plus same day" rating (1.06) to "live plus three days" (1.79).

Saturday: NBC finished first among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in 18-49 Saturday night, ranking #1 among those nets during six of six primetime half-hours with "Dateline Saturday Night Mystery" and the 10 p.m. "Saturday Night Live" encore, which tied as the #1 primetime programs of the night on the Big 4 networks.

The debut of "Dateline Saturday Night Mystery" (0.9/3 in 18-49, 5.2 million viewers overall) matched NBC's best 18-49 rating in the slot, excluding sports in a year and a half (since Sept. 15, 2012) and delivered the biggest overall audience in the time period, excluding sports, in three years (since March 5, 2011). In the time period, "Dateline Saturday Night Mystery" ranked #1 or tied for #1 among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in every key measure. From its first half-hour to its fourth, "Dateline Saturday Night Mystery" grew by 83% in adults 18-45 (to a 1.1 rating from a 0.6), 78% in adults 25-54 (1.6 vs. 0.9) and 52% or 2.1 million persons in total viewers (to 6.1 million from 4.0 million).

A rebroadcast of "Saturday Night Live," with host Melissa McCarthy and musical guest Imagine Dragons (0.9/3 in 18-49, 3.2 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET) won the hour among ABC, CBS and NBC in adults 18-49 and tied "Dateline Saturday Night Mystery" for the #1 rating of the night on the Big 4 networks. From its first half-hour to its second, the 10 p.m. "SNL" encore grew by 11% in adults 18-49 (to a 1.0 rating from a 0.9), 17% in adults 18-34 (0.7 vs. 0.6) and 40% in men 18-34 (0.7 vs. 0.5).

Sunday: From 7-9 p.m. ET, in its fifth Sunday telecast of the season, "Dateline NBC" (1.1/4 in 18-49, 5.6 million viewers overall) reported its highest Sunday results in 18-49 and total viewers since debuting on the night Jan. 5. From its first half-hour to its fourth, "Dateline" grew by 44% in adults 18-49 (to a 1.3 rating from a 0.9), by 50% in adults 25-54 (1.8 vs. 1.2) and by 44% or 2.0 million persons in total viewers (6.5 million vs. 4.5 million).

An encore telecast of "The Voice" averaged a 1.1/3 in 18-49 and 4.0 million viewers overall from 9-11 p.m. ET. For its second hour from 10-11 p.m., the "Voice" rebroadcast ranked #2 among ABC, CBS and NBC in adults, men and women 18-34.
