Here are the highlights of the eight ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (4/19/14):
ABC (5.871 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.0, #1) was the top draw on Saturday with its annual rebroadcast of "The Ten Commandments" (5.871 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.0, #1).
NBC (3.920 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.9, #2) then claimed the silver with its two-hour "Dateline Saturday Night Mystery" (4.487 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T2) and a repeat of "Saturday Night Live" (2.785 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T2).
Next up was FOX (1.986 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.8, #3) and its presentation of "UFC on FOX 11" (1.986 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.8, #5).
And finally, CBS (3.489 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.7, #4) closed out the evening with its mix of "Mike & Molly" (2.196 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T7), "The Millers" (2.029 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T7), "Criminal Minds" (2.862 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.6, #6) and "48 Hours" (5.494 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T2).
In late-night metered market ratings (via NBC's press release):
· An encore telecast of "Saturday Night Live," with host Melissa McCarthy and musical guest Imagine Dragons, averaged a 2.9/7 in household results in Nielsen's 56 metered markets and a 1.4/7 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with Local People Meters, making it the #1 telecast of the night on the Big 4 networks in 18-49 rating in the Local People Meters ahead of all primetime programs on the Big 4 networks in that key measure.
Here are the highlights of the 10 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (4/20/13):
FOX (3.307 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.5, #1) took home the demo crown on Saturday with its coverage of "UFC on FOX 7" (3.307 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.5, #1).
CBS (4.842 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 0.7, #2) then was the most-watched network with a special "Vegas" (4.324 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.5, #9) followed by a repeat of "The Mentalist" (4.762 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T5) and a new "48 Hours" (5.439 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.0, #2).
Next up was ABC (3.285 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T3) with a new "Bet on Your Baby" (2.920 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.7, #4) alongside repeats of "Castle" (2.983 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T5) and a second "Castle" (3.953 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T5).
And finally, a new "Smash" (1.908 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.4, #10) led into repeats of "The Voice" (2.395 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T5) and "Saturday Night Live" (2.491 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.9, #3) on NBC (2.264 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T3).
In late-night metered market ratings (via NBC's press release):
* An encore telecast of "Saturday Night Live," with host Christoph Waltz and musical guest Alabama Shakes, averaged a 3.3/8 in metered-market households, equaling its overnight rating for the same night last year.
* In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, last night's "Saturday Night Live" averaged a 1.8 rating, 8 share in adults 18-49. "SNL" delivered the top rating of the night among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in the Local People Meters, out-rating all primetime programming on those networks. The 1.8 is "SNL's" highest LPM 18-49 rating for an encore since March 16 (1.8 for a telecast hosted by Jennifer Lawrence with musical guest The Lumineers) and matches "SNL's" top rating for an encore since January 12, 2013 (2.0 for a telecast hosted by Christina Applegate with musical guest Passion Pit). Versus the same night last year, "SNL" is up 6 percent in the Local People Meters (1.8 vs. 1.7).
