Tuesday's Broadcast Ratings: NBC, "America's Got Talent" Coast to Victory

Here are the highlights of the 11 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (6/3/14):

NBC (9.833 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.4, #1) was the network to beat on Tuesday thanks to new episoddes of "America's Got Talent" (11.173 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.8, #1) and "The Night Shift" (7.153 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.5, #2).

ABC (3.924 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.2, #2) then was a distant second place with originals from "Extreme Weight Loss" (3.865 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.1, #4) and the Thursday-bound "Celebrity Wife Swap" (4.043 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.4, #3).

Next up was CBS (7.294 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.0, #3) and its repeat lineup of "NCIS" (8.585 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T5), "NCIS: Los Angeles" (7.584 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T5) and "Person of Interest" (5.714 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.8, #7).

Meanwhile, FOX (1.118 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.4, #4) served up originals from "Riot" (1.196 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T8) and "I Wanna Marry 'Harry'" (1.041 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T8).

And finally, the premiere of "Famous in 12" (0.728 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.3, #T10) and a repeat "Supernatural" (0.720 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.3, #T10) closed out the evening on The CW (0.724 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.3, #5). In the netlet's target demo (women 18-34), "Famous" delivered a 0.2 rating while "Supernatural" posted a 0.2 rating.

In late-night metered market ratings (via NBC's press release):

· In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 2.7/7; CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman," 2.0/5; and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 1.9/5.

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 1.1/5; "Late Show," 0.3/1; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.6/3.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.1/4 in metered-market households and a 0.4/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Seth Meyers" (1.3/5 in metered-market households) beat CBS's "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" (1.0/4). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.6/4 in 18-49) topped "Late Late Show" (0.2/1).

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.9/4 in metered-market households and a 0.4/3 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.


Here are the highlights of the 10 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (6/4/13):

NBC (10.926 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 3.1, #1) overshadowed the competition on Tuesday with a new "The Voice" (10.572 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 3.0, #2) followed by the two-hour season premiere of "America's Got Talent" (11.102 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 3.1, #1).

FOX (4.388 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.6, #2) then claimed a distant second place with a new "So You Think You Can Dance" (4.388 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.6, #3).

Next up was CBS (6.823 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T3) with repeats of "NCIS" (8.624 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T5), "NCIS: Los Angeles" (7.762 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.1, #4) and a new "Brooklyn DA" (4.082 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.8, #7).

Meanwhile, ABC (4.002 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T3) offered up week two of "Extreme Weight Loss" (3.779 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T5) and a rebroadcast of "Body of Proof" (4.447 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.7, #8).

And finally, repeats of "Hart of Dixie" (0.668 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.2, #T9) and "America's Next Top Model" (0.489 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.2, #T9) on The CW (0.578 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.2, #5) closed out the evening. In the netlet's target demo (women 18-34), "Dixie" delivered a 0.2 rating at 8:00/7:00c and "Model" a 0.3 rating at 9:00/8:00c.
