Thursday Primetime Results:
Facing high-rated NFL competition on CBS, "The Biggest Loser" and "The Secret Lives of Pets" are the night's #1-#2 non-sports telecasts on the Big 4 in 18-49 and total viewers, making NBC the night's top non-sports net among the Big 4 in all key measures.
· The season debut of "The Biggest Loser" (1.6/5 in 18-49, 5.4 million viewers overall from 8-10 p.m. ET) ranked as the top non-sports telecast of the night on the Big 4 in 18-49, total viewers and every other key measure.
· Despite facing CBS's high-rated Steelers-Ravens NFL telecast, "Biggest Loser" scored NBC's top non-sports results in the slot since May 1 in 18-49 and total viewers.
· "The Biggest Loser" beat NBC's time-period average in the slot last season by +23% in 18-49 (1.6 vs. 1.3, L+SD non-sports) and outdelivered last season's total-viewer average in the time period by +32% (5.374 million vs. 4.064 million).
· Note that the year-ago "Biggest Loser" premiere did not face NFL football competition and ran nearly five weeks later, on Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013 (2.3/7 in 18-49, 7.160 million viewers overall from 8-9 p.m., leading into "The Voice")
· The NBC News Special "The Secret Lives of Pets" (1.0/3 in 18-49, 4.2 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET) ranked as the #2 non-sports telecast of the night on the Big 4 in adults 18-49, adults 25-54 and total viewers, behind only "The Biggest Loser."
In Late-Night Metered Markets Thursday Night:
· In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 2.7/7; CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman," 2.0/6 delayed by an NFL overrun; and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 1.9/5.
· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 1.1/5; "Late Show," 0.7/5 delayed by an NFL overrun; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.6/3.
· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET , ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.2/4 in metered-market households and a 0.4/3 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.
· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Seth Meyers" (1.2/5 in metered-market households) beat CBS's "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" (1.1/5 delayed by an NFL overrun). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.5/3 in 18-49) topped "Late Late Show" (0.4/4 delayed by an NFL overrun).
· At 1:35 a.m. ET , "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.7/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.3/3 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.
