TBS Marks Its Fourth Consecutive Week as Basic Cable's Top Entertainment Network with Adults 18-49 in Primetime

TBS ranked as basic cable's #1 entertainment network in primetime among total viewers and marked its fourth consecutive week as basic cable's top entertainment network with adults 18-49 in primetime.

TBS's telecasts of The Big Bang Theory accounted for all of basic cable's Top 25 sitcom telecasts for the week among total viewers and adults 18-49.

Adult Swim

Across the third week of September 2014, Adult Swim ranked as basic cable's #1 network for Total Day Delivery of adults/men 18-24 & 18-34.

The original series premiere of Tim & Eric's Bedtime Stories (Thursday, 12:15 a.m.) ranked #1 in its time period among all targeted adults and men, growing delivery by double-digits across key demos vs. last year's time period. Black Jesus (11 p.m.) also ranked #1 in its time period among adults 18-24.

The original series premiere of Mr. Pickles (Sunday, 11:30 p.m.) ranked #1 in its time period among all targeted adults/men 18-34 & 18-49, while the season 9 premiere of Squidbillies (11:45 p.m.) also ranked #1 in its time period among adults 18-34 & 18-49 and men 18-34.

Naruto: Shippuden (1 a.m.) and Hellsing Ultimate (3 a.m.) both ranked #1 in their time periods among all targeted young adult demos. Attack on Titans (11:30 p.m.) ranked #1 in its time period among adults & men 18-24/18-34. One Piece (1:30 a.m.) was #1 in its time period among adults 18-24 and men 18-24 & 18-34. Gurren Lagann (2 a.m.) also ranked #1 in its time period among men 18-24 & 18-34. Overall, most of the TOONAMI block premieres saw gains among adults 18-34 & men 18-34 vs. last year's time periods.

Adult Swim programming - including Family Guy, American Dad, Robot Chicken and The Cleveland show - accounted for 23 of the top 50 telecasts on basic cable for the week among adults 18-34, and 25 of the top 50 telecasts among men 18-34, both more than any other network.

Cartoon Network

Cementing its position as a Top Boys Network, Cartoon Network claimed ALL of basic cable's Top 25 telecasts this week among boys 6-11.

For the third week of September 2014, Cartoon Network ranked as television's #1 network for Early Prime (6-8 p.m.) delivery among kids 6-11 and all targeted boys, as well as #1 in Total Day delivery of boys 6-11 & 9-14. Total Day delivery averages grew year-over-year among kids 2-11 by 7%, kids 6-11 by 18%, and kids 9-14 by 8%.

Reigning once again as television's #1 destination among kids/boys 2-11, 6-11 & 9-14 on Thursday Night (6-8p), Cartoon Network's Early Prime performance vs. the same 2013 time period increased by double-digits across the board, ranging from 10% to 37%. The new episode premiere of Teen Titans Go! (6 p.m.) claimed the #1 telecast for the week among boys 6-11 on all TV and boys 9-14 on basic cable, plus the #1 telecast of the day among all targeted kid and boy demos. Animated originals Steven Universe (6:30 p.m.) and The Amazing World of Gumball (7 p.m.) both ranked #1 in their respective time periods among all targeted demos. All three episode premieres grew average delivery by double-digits across the board vs. the same time period last year, ranging between 21% and 68%.

On additional nights of the week (6-8 p.m.), Cartoon Network claimed the #1 destination vs. all TV among kids 6-11 and all targeted boys on Friday Night, #1 among kids 9-14 and all key boys on Saturday Night, #1 among all boy demos on Monday and Tuesday Night, and #1 among boys 2-11/6-11 on Wednesday Night. Overall, Wednesday night increased average delivery of kids 6-11 and boys 6-11, and Friday Night grew delivery among kids 2-11 and boys 2-11 & 6-11 vs. last year's time period.

Saturday Morning programming (7-11 a.m.) earned year-over-year gains among kids 2-11 (+6%) and kids 6-11 (+10%). Legends of Chima (7:30 a.m.) and Pokémon the Series XY (8 a.m.) ranked #1 in their respective time periods among boys 6-11 & 9-14. Both episode premieres grew deliveries of targeted kids 2-11 & kids 6-11 vs. last year's performance.

TNT

TNT scored growth with each of its original scripted dramas last week:

Last Monday's episode of Dallas has drawn 2.8 million viewers in Live + 3 delivery, with 1.2 million adults 25-54 (+6% vs. the prior week).

Wednesday's night's episode of Legends has brought in 2.7 million viewers in Live + 3 delivery (+11% vs. the prior week), including 1.0 million adults 25-54 (+17%).

Wednesday's episode of Franklin & Bash has drawn 2.5 million viewers in Live + 3 (+11% vs. the prior week), with 1.1 million adults 25-54 (+11%).

In time-shifted viewing, the Sept. 2 summer finale of Rizzoli & Isles grew to a final tally of more than 8 million viewers in Live + 7 delivery, including 2.8 million adults 25-54 and 2.3 million adults 18-49. For the summer overall, Rizzoli & Isles ranked as basic cable's #1 series, averaging 8.1 million viewers in Live + 7 delivery. In key demos, the summer run of Rizzoli & Isles drew 2.7 million adults 25-54 and 2.2 million adults 18-49.
