Wednesday's Broadcast Ratings: ABC, CBS Share Demo Crown

Here are the highlights of the 15 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (10/15/14):

CBS (9.291 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.1, #T1) was the most-watched network on Wednesday thanks to new episodes of "Survivor: San Juan del Sur" (9.315 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 2.3, #4), "Criminal Minds" (10.753 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.4, #3) and "Stalker" (7.804 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.7, #T7).

Sharing the demo crown however was ABC (6.512 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 2.1, #T1) with its mix of "Toy Story of Terror!" (6.269 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 1.8, #6), "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" (6.281 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 2.1, #5), "Modern Family" (9.455 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 3.3, #1), "Black-ish" (6.916 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 2.5, #2) and "Nashville" (5.076 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T10).

Next up was NBC (7.500 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.5, #3) and originals from "The Mysteries of Laura" (8.517 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T10), "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (7.270 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.7, #T7) and "Chicago PD" (6.714 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.6, #9).

Meanwhile, FOX (3.385 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.1, #4) offered up fresh installments of "Hell's Kitchen" (3.660 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 1.2, #12) and "Red Band Society" (3.112 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.9, #13).

And finally, a new "Arrow" (2.250 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.8, #14) and a repeat "The Flash" (1.631 million viewers, #15; adults 18-49: 0.5, #15) closed out the evening on The CW (1.941 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.6, #5). In the netlet's target demo (women 18-34), the former delivered a 0.5 rating while the latter posted a 0.3 rating.

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 1.1/5; "Late Show," 0.5/2; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.7/3.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.1/4 in metered-market households and a 0.4/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Seth Meyers" (1.2/4 in metered-market households) tied CBS's "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" (1.2/4). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.5/4 in 18-49) topped "Late Late Show" (0.3/2).

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.8/4 in metered-market households and a 0.3/3 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.


Here are the highlights of the 16 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (10/16/13):

CBS (10.089 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.4, #T1), ABC (7.483 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 2.4, #T1) and FOX (8.060 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.4, #T1) all shared the top spot on Wednesday as the latter served up coverage of the "ALCS, Game 4" (8.060 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 2.4, #5).

The Eye then offered up originals from "Survivor: Blood vs. Water" (9.889 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 2.5, #4), "Criminal Minds" (10.947 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.7, #3) and "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" (9.431 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 2.0, #7).

Next up was the Alphabet which got a boost from "Toy Story of Terror!" (10.286 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 3.0, #2) alongside new episodes of "Back in the Game" (6.236 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.8, #8), "Modern Family" (10.848 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 4.0, #1), "Super Fun Night" (6.021 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 2.1, #6) and "Nashville" (5.753 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 1.7, #T9).

Meanwhile, NBC (5.891 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.4, #4) served up fresh installments of "Revolution" (5.385 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 1.4, #11), "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (7.376 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.7, #T9) and "Ironside" (4.913 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T12).

And finally, week two of "Arrow" (3.019 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T12) and "The Tomorrow People" (2.159 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.8, #14) on The CW (2.589 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.9, #5) closed out the night. In the netlet's target demo (women 18-34), "Arrow" delivered a 0.9 rating while "Tomorrow" posted a 0.6 rating.
