Friday's Broadcast Ratings: "Shark Tank" Keeps ABC in Front Among Adults 18-49

Here are the highlights of the 15 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (11/7/14):

ABC (6.840 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.6, #1) was the demo champ on Friday thanks to its mix of "Last Man Standing" (6.630 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T5), "Cristela" (4.976 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T9), "Shark Tank" (7.763 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.9, #1) and "20/20" (6.954 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.7, #2).

CBS (8.809 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T2) then was the most-watched network with its trio of "The Amazing Race" (6.104 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T7), "Hawaii Five-0" (8.915 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T7) and "Blue Bloods" (11.411 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.4, #T3).

Next up was NBC (5.305 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T2) with originals from "Dateline NBC" (7.847 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.4, #T3), "Grimm" (4.936 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T5) and "Constantine" (3.131 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T9).

Meanwhile, FOX (1.662 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.5, #4) served up encores of "MasterChef Junior" (2.035 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.6, #11) and "Gotham" (1.289 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T13).

And finally, The CW (1.187 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.4, #5) closed out the evening with a new "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" (1.400 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.5, #12), a repeat "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" (1.214 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T13) and a new "America's Next Top Model" (1.068 million viewers, #15; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T13). In the netlet's target demo (women 18-34), said trio posted a 0.4, 0.4 and 0.5 rating, respectively.

In late-night metered market ratings (via NBC's press release):

·Friday's edition of "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," with guests Jay Leno, Lucy Liu and Kevin Delaney, with Dave Davies sitting in with The Roots, averaged a 3.3 rating, 8 share in metered-market households, making it the top-rated Friday telecast of "The Tonight Show" in eight months (since March 7, with a 3.4/8 during the third week of Jimmy Fallon's tenure as "Tonight" host).

·In adult 18-49 rating in the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Tonight" scored a 1.2/6, equaling the show's highest Friday figure since March 7 (1.5/6).

·At 12:35 a.m. ET, an encore "Late Night with Seth Meyers" captured that show's highest result for a Friday telecast in metered-market households (1.6/5) since March 14 (also a 1.6/5). Last night's "Late Night" featured guests Amy Poehler and George R. R. Martin, with Captain Sensible from The Damned sitting in with the 8G Band.

·It was also the top Friday in the metered markets since March 14 for the 1:35 a.m. encore of "Last Call with Carson Daly" (1.0/4), which last night featured guests Conor McGreggor and Fahim Anwar with musical guest Shannon and the Clams.


Here are the highlights of the 14 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (11/8/13):

CBS (9.899 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.5, #T1) was the most-watched network on Friday with its usual mix of "Undercover Boss" (9.337 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.8, #2), "Hawaii Five-0" (9.385 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.4, #T4) and "Blue Bloods" (10.976 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T7).

ABC (6.197 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.5, #T1) however shared the adults 18-49 crown thanks to its lineup of "Last Man Standing" (6.175 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.4, #T4), "The Neighbors" (4.554 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.1, #9), "Shark Tank" (7.251 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 2.0, #1) and "20/20" (5.976 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.4, #T4).

Next up was NBC (4.509 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.1, #3) and its combination of "Dateline NBC" (5.601 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T10), "Grimm" (4.935 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T7) and "Dracula" (2.991 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T10).

Meanwhile, FOX (3.037 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.0, #4) served up the season finale of "MasterChef Junior" (4.209 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 1.5, #3) and a repeat of "Sleepy Hollow" (1.864 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.6, #12).

And finally, originals from "The Carrie Diaries" (0.804 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.3, #14) and "America's Next Top Model" (1.050 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.4, #13) on The CW (0.927 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.4, #5) closed out the evening. In the netlet's target demo (women 18-34), "Carrie" delivered a 0.5 rating at 8:00/7:00c and "Model" a 0.7 rating at 9:00/8:00c.

·In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," 0.7/4; "Late Show," 0.5/3; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.7/4 with an encore.

·From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.4/4 in metered-market households and a 0.4/3 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

·From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" (1.5/5 in metered-market households) beat CBS's "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" (1.3/4). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.6/4 in 18-49) topped "Late Late Show" (0.3/2).

·At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.9/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.4/3 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.
